Your metabolism was faster when you were breast feeding..your body burns calories just to make your breastmilk. Once you stop, it slows back down. Try really sticking to a plan. I make one day a week (for me it's Sunday) a cheat day, so I never feel deprived of the foods I really love. The other 6 days, stick to your guns. Begin a diet that consists mostly of:
Fresh fruits and veggies
lean meats and fish
high fiber/complex carbs

I really enjoy those Kashi cereals..they are packed with protein and fiber, so I actually feel full for about 4 hours after a simple bowl of cereal with lowfat milk.

Next...kick up that stroller walk up a notch. Pick up the pace, make it brisk. Try interval training with the stroller...for instance, do 15 minutes briskly, then do some lunges using the stroller handle for balance for 5 minutes, then back to the 15 minute brisk walk...5 minute lunges, then 15 minute cool-down. Try lifting some simple weights when the baby is napping..it could be something as simple as canned veggies in each hand, or empty milk containers filled with water.

Don't give up...if you're still gaining after that, see your doctor. It could be an underactive thyroid.
Good Luck!

What do you mean when you say your eating healthy? Give a list of what you normally eat in a day and others might be able to more accuratly assist you!

Also breast-feeding takes off alot of preg weight...have this loss will naturally effect your weight and you might even gain back some preg weight that you lost...

You may need to do some weight training. The more muscle mass you have the more efficient your body is at burning fat, even at rest. You could also get your hormones checked. If they are imbalanced (especially after having a baby) You can be more likely to gain weight. Maybe eat smaller meals at night as you wont burn off the energy through the night. Good luck

Try low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein, and exercise. The foods are low caloried, and yet filling and healthy. Brisk walking is great for burning body fats.

It is my lifestyle now. I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs/14kg and gained better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs/49kg for more than a year, with more fruits and complex carbs.

Details such as my experience, meals, snacks, recipes, foods to buy, reading labels, walking as an exercise and to shape the body etc etc, are in my blog

my wife had the same problem and then her mother gave her a cd recording that helped her no longer desire food after her plate was half emply........it was weird i thought....being a guy, i'm naturally skeptical...she would listen to this recording everynight.....i'm not sure how long it took.....but she is now back to her pre-baby weight.......the name of the company was independent....wait.....she's looking for it.....but she was able to eat the foods she wanted without 'giving up' anything....i wouldn't really call it a diet at all ...here it is (sorry) www.independentachievement.com give it a try, my wife has turned alot of people onto it and they are happy with the results

Keep a food diary for a couple of days then look at the calories that you intake. Reduce your caloric intake to 1200 or 1500 calories a day and keep on walking. The inches should start melting off.
