I want to loose weight and do not eat as well as I could. I want to try for 1 week to eat a new recipe every day. I need them to be pretty simple and cheap to make. I would also like them to have common ingredients.

For example, if I make a recipe that requires pork, I would like another recipe for later to use the rest of the pork in a different way. Also, I LOVE pastas and itialian so if you have anym bring them on!

I just lost 35 pounds and did it eating carbs but GOOD CARBS. I also ate 4 to 6 times a day in small portions. NO RED MEAT. No cream of anything soup...it is all bad for you...the sodium will kill you. Eat beans everyday....i will share some of my recipes. Oh and eat pickles, olives and hot peppers as much as you want.

Cucumbers and Sour Cream:

1 cucumber cut up with or with out skin
1 tomato seeded and chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1 small container sour cream

Mix all and chill, very good and healthy

Beans and dressing:

I can butter beans
1 can lima beans
italian dressing

Mix all and chill, this is SOOOO GOOOD

Pasta salad:

1 box any shaped pasta
italian dressing
1 bag cali, broc and carrot mix chopped up
1 can sliced black olives
1 6 ounce bag pre cooked (not frozen) chicken strips cut up
1 can artichoke heats diced
1 can garbanzo beans

Mix all and chill.

Wraps:

Make veggie wraps, get a spring mix and a wrap, add some of the salad with cucumbers that are diced, tomatos, avacados, spouts, red onion. You could add some dill dressing. And some provlone cheese.

(thats actually one of my favs)

Remeber to eat all day in small portions. And drink a ton of water..i did 3 to 4 gallons a day for threee weeks and I lost 12 pounds the first week.

I don't know how much weight you are interested in losing but pastas can put on the weight. Same with potatoes and breads. Try something low-carb to help drop that weight. You can eat Italian, like Eggplant Parmesan (lots of recipes on the web). The best thing to do is to cut down your portions. I have been eating healthy for a number of years now because of the different diets my hubby needed to be on - low-fat/low-cholesterol for his heart and then low-carb for his borderline diabetes. I didn't lose any weight on either of those but once I cut my portions down, I started to lose weight. I already was walking 5 days a week for an hour but even the walks didn't do it. You might try that. Then you can eat what you want, but in smaller quantities. Now that you know how you can eat, try the smaller portions. If you need recipes, here are a few:

PORK

Take 2 pork chops - frozen. Open a can of low-sodium cream of mushroom soup and add the can of water and the soup to a pan. Drop in the pork chops, bring the mixture to a boil, turn down the heat, and cook for 20-30 minutes. Serve over a slice of low-carb bread or the sprouted bread. You can serve with a very small side-salad or veggies like green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, or Brussels Sprouts. You can take the leftover soup juice and use it as the base for your next soup that you make.

SOUP
1 med carrot (or 3 baby ones)
1 stick celery
1/4 onion - chopped
1 bay leaf
Leftover mushroom soup mixture
Any leftover meat
2 T oil

Saute onion in the oil until translucent. Add the carrot and celery and cook about 3 minutes. Pour the onions, carrot and celery into the soup mixture. Add the bay leaf and a little black pepper. Bring to a boil, turn the heat down, and cook for 15 minutes or until the veggies are tender. Add the leftover meat and cook until the meat is warmed. Serve.

You can make Lasagna but use the Eggplant in place of the noodles. To cook the eggplant, slice into rounds, spray a cookie sheet, place the rounds on the sheet and spray the rounds. Bake in a 400º oven apx 10 minutes or until they start to brown on the edges, and then turn them over and bake them another 5 minutes. Layer them in a casserole dish with low-fat ricotta cheese and some Parmesan cheese (not the kind in the green can). For the tomato sauce:

TOMATO SAUCE

1 can low-sodium diced tomatoes
1 can low-sodium tomato sauce
1/4 onion - diced
1 garlic clove - minced
3 rings bell pepper - diced
1 tsp Italian Seasoning
1/3 tsp black pepper
1 small can sliced mushrooms
2 T oil

Saute the onion, garlic and mushroom until the onions are translucent. Add everything to a pot and bring to a boil. Turn the burner down and simmer for 20 minutes. Use this to put between the layers of the eggplant, cheeses, and this sauce.
TO LAYER: Put some sauce in your casserole dish. Place a layer of the eggplant on top of it. Then a layer of the cheese, then the tomato sauce, repeat in 3 layers, ending with the tomato sauce. Enjoy! The Eggplant Parmesan freezes wonderfully!
