Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him (l Corinthians 11:14)
Well, all the pictures I ever saw, Jesus had long hair. Anybody else see something different?

Actually, we don't know whether Jesus had long hair or not. But long hair in men is common--even virtually required--in many cultures.
You did your Bible homework, though. Here's my take on that point: Paul was NOT--despite what some critics say--narrow-minded. But he was keenly aware of the fledgling and vulnerable position of the early churches-and none knew better than he the potential danger of persecution. Also, he was concerned tha tChristians not inadvertantly give offense to potential converts (keep in mind Christ's charge to spread the "Good News").
Paul did not regard many of the things he advised against as sins-but considered them to be poor behavior for Christians trying to set a good example. And he said-in several epistles, that actions that ran counter to local custom should be avoided, even if not themselves sinful (today, he'd have made a great sociologist!).
So--if thecustom for a region was for men to have short hair, it would make sense for Paul to counsel that it would be wrong or a Christian to give offense by violating the custom.

Look into the significance of men with long hair in the Corinthian culture and you will find your answer. You are taking this verse out of the intended context and trying to project it on something it was never meant to be placed upon. Not everything in the letters is meant to apply to all people all of the time because they are letters to specific churches with specific problems and issues. You can take that verse and realize that what it means is to stay away from being mistaken for something else in a different culture.

This one is effortless. In nature, we specifically see interior the animal kingdom, that the male species are those that carry the "glory" on their head. The male deer has the antlers, the male peacock has the ornate feathers, the male lion has the mane, etc. whether, guy improve into no longer made in any animal s image. He improve into made in a lifeless ringer for God (Gen. a million:26-27). So, if one have been to examine this commentary, it could improve into sparkling to even the easy minded that he improve into no longer purely like the others and he belonged to a minimum of a few thing else different than the animal kingdom. That some thing else being God s unique introduction, diverse from something, made in His very own image.

Greetings,
1 CORINTHIANS 11:16.
Long hair is a disgrace to the man himself. Long hair is only meant for a woman for her beauty.
Peace Be With you.

Samson thought his strength was in his long hair, Hair means nothing long nor short, jesus means everything. I'm sure Jesus couldn't care if we shave our heads or whatever that stuff in the old testament comes from the culture at the time

I don't know that the pictures you refer to have anything much to do with historical reality.
My own hair is past my shoulders. If I considered it a shame, I'd cut it off the way wossname Delilah did for Samson.

Ask most New Testament scholars and they'll tell you that verse speaks more to a man trying to make himself look like a woman.

There are no actual pictures of Jesus - every picture we see is just someone's imagination of what He looked like. He's usually shown as being white, too, and in reality he was brown-skinned.

Well, in my defense, my hair wasn't long by the standard of the time. Besides, no instrument except for those crapped out of God's own buttocks Himself could cut through my immortal locks...

Heh. Yeah. And they show him as a white guy with blue eyes and light brown hair. Truly now, would that be what he looked like? Not likely at all, given his genetics and ethnic heritage through his mom.
