Depends on how old you are. If you're nine now, than you have a problem. A lot of people gradually let go of memories from their early years as they get older. Many can barely recall details from their teen years by the time they're middle aged. It's a natural part of aging.
I can remember bits and pieces of stuff that happened when I was age 2-5, but for the most part I don't remember a lot of details from anything before middle school.

Nobody in theory remembers anything before age 3 - 4. The hippocampus has to mature enough for the memories to stick.

I'd have to say I don't remember a heck of a lot from that time in my life. The way I've remembered stuff was to see pictures of that time and then it would trigger stuff.

Also, I had older and younger sibs. Talking about this and that brought up memories of that time.

You probably do remember little sniplets tho, right? If that's the case, then your'e probably pretty normal. There are people who seem to have total recall of events, including what type of shirt a bystander was wearing...false memory..or just a person who likes to tell tall tales that the story has been embanked in their brain as real. As you get older, something will pop in your head that you hadn't even thought of for eons. Sometimes people block out memories due to trauma . My nephew can't recall alot of his childhood due to a concussion.

If you had a traumatic youth, that's pretty much the way it is. I don't have much but a whisper of memory before age six, before my dad was hospitalized for mental illness. It's a big blur until I turned 13. So it's sad but a normal/typical response to dealing with bad stuff early on.
