Some folks never dream, and others dream every night. I'm afraid it's beyond the control of the conscious mind, since dreams originate in the subconscious. Also, it's an old wives tale that you will dream if you eat certain things before bedtime. As for controlling a dream, again that's the job of the subconscious. If you try controlling a dream, you will usually wake up, because the conscious mind takes over. Also, dreams usually occur during the lighter phases of sleep rather than in deep sleep.

Sometimes thinking before you go to sleep can help you dream, but not always. Some people just don't dream a lot, and that's fine. When you are dreaming, there are two types of dreams--one that you can't control, and one that you can control. In the dreams you can kind of tell if you'll be able to or not. I hope you're satisfied with future dreams. Also, you do actually dream every night. Some people think that's what deja vu is--seeing something in a dream you can't remember and going on to see it again in your conscious life.

1. You are gonna want to take a vitamin b complex. ( Never on a empty stomach)
2. You are also gonna want to have a dream journal at least for your first week. This basically connects your waking mind to your sleeping mind. Having a notebook by you bed open and ready for you in the morning allows you to record any glimpse of the night before even if all you remember is an emotion. Write it down. If you don't have to look for the book when you wake up. You will find out that each day it will be easier to remember the adventures of your sleeping self.

How do you know that you in fact don't have dreams each night but forget them by the time you wake up?
You can make yourself dream, and remember them vividly, but it takes a tremendous amount of thought control and practice.
Experiment with thought control as soon as you read this response then you will see how difficult the prospect is.
For the immediate future, it is your super conscious that is controlling your dreams. Getting in touch with it is the same as controlling your thoughts.
Good luck.

Well, if you keep thinking about a certain thing you are more likely to dream about it. For example, if you've been thinking about your friends a lot lately, then you are more likely to dream about them. There is a way to learn to control your dream which is called lucid dreaming but they claim that only fewer than 100,000 people in the U.S. can control their dreams. Check out the link that I put on the source to see how you can try to control your dreams.

Try getting enough sleep. You're probably not dreaming because you're exhausted, stressed, and then passing out tired at the end of the day. Try getting 7-8 solid hours a night and see if you dream...you should be going through more sleep cycles that way.

This may sound strange but I always seem to have vivid dreams after drinking. Not to the point where you are $hit faced but rather just enough of a buzz where you are relaxed and lucid and not passed out. The last time I had a really vivid dream then I thought that I woke up but I was still dreaming. It was flippin trippy!!!

Dream is a fruit of sleep. When you're in bed and ready to sleep, think of your accomplishment and good activities done for the day, explore across the miles and bring your thoughts to your friends farway longing to see them again. Pray before you sleep and have a colorful dream. When you're angry, don't sleep right away. You could possibly dream of horror. A good relaxation like listening mellow music before sleeping helps a lot.
