Depends on your goals. Are you attempting to gain mass? Ultimately if you're lifting weights to gain muscle mass, you'll want to consume at least 50 grams of protein a day. Milk contains a decent amount of protein. The chocolate contains sugar, which would be better before the workout. Ultimately, it would be better to consume regular milk, but if you want the protein, there are much better choices like 100% whey protein shake and kre-alkalyn (creatine). If I had to settle the argument, I'd tell your buddy that he's not in kindergarten anymore and drink something that has more benefits!

actually, from what i was taught (my father being a nutritionist), and a few experiments, all milk is bad bc once it's boiled, all the natural vitamins are actually stripped. also, to get calcium, you need magnesium as well to get the full potential.
also, with it being chocolate, there is plenty of sugar that will do you no good.
and, drinking something like that after a work out will definitely make you bloated.
it's best to SIP water after a work out, and at room temperature. drinking water too fast can also cause bloating-not to mention, drinking cold water can shock the body
-now go rub it in his face lol

It depends. Yeah of course chocolate milk is bad when you are trying to lose weight, due to the high amounts of fat and sugar, but if your friends completed workout involved lifting weights and he is trying to gain weight, it really isnt too bad for him, especially if he is a hardgainer. Whey protein is the better choice for post workout, because it is digested quickly, unlike the protein found in milk. However, post workout is a good time to get some sugar in your system, because it helps your body switch from the "breaking down" stage to the "rebuilding" stage.
So anyways, if your friend has a gut, and is doing cardio to trim down, then yeah the milk is bad, but if hes trying to gain it is not as bad of a choice, though a whey shake with some koolaid would be better.

Yes, it has calcium and protein..and it is also full of fat and sugar. If he wants the calcium, protein and D vitamins, then he would be much better off drinking a quart of lowfat plain milk. Instead, he destroying the efforts he just put into his workout.

Chocolate milk is unhealthy!!
Plain milk is much better.
Some other foods rich in calcium are cheese, yogurt, sardines (LOL), spinach, collards, etc.
