The big snake ate, presumed attacked, a small snake and then "simply just went into a hole(his home)". I think this is probably a metaphor for something in your life. Possibly a metaphor for how you, the small snake, are being used/or mistreated, and the person doing it has no remorse and can simply retire to his/her resting place. Basically, eat you up and go on with his/her life. Then again, you could be the big snake.

Maybe you just feel overwhelmed by things that are happening in your life, and sometimes feel like you're being swallowed up by them. In your dream, the big snake is the one that is overtaking the smaller one, which is you. I'm not really a dream interpreter, but I've read a lot on the subject. Meet your problems head on and try to solve them, rather than shove them aside in your mind. Maybe if you do that, you won't have that dream anymore. Good luck!

To see a snake or be bitten by one in your dream, signifies hidden fears and worries that are threatening you. Your dream may be alerting you to something in your waking life that you are not aware of or that has not yet surfaced. The snake may also be seen as phallic and thus symbolize dangerous and forbidden sexuality. The snake may also refer to a person around you who is callous, ruthless, and can't be trusted. As a positive symbol, snakes represent knowledge and wisdom. To dream that you escape from or kill a snake, denotes that you will overcome your struggles and come out a blazing winner. This is a great opportunity for renewal and to make changes.

Snakes are about transformation.
That is good.
Believe in yourself, you have the ability to transform what is troubling you.
The big things are only small things really, they are only big because we give them energy and they grow into what we think is a "problem"
There are no problems there are only challenges.
Challenges can be surmounted, one step at a time.
Don't allow the big things to get you down.
One step at a time.
You will pass through this.

According to Dreamcrowd:

To see green fields in your dream, symbolizes great abundance, freedom, and happiness. You may also be going through a period of personal growth. Alternatively, this dream may simply be an expression for your love of nature. To see freshly plowed fields in your dream, signifies growth, early rise to wealth and fortunate advancements to places of honor. To see dead or barren fields, signifies lack, pessimism and your jaded prospects for the future.

To see a rattlesnake in your dream, represents the passage of time.

Chaos? 's response made me think of these little fish symbols: the larger fish says "Jesus" on it, and it is eating the smaller fish, which says "Darwin" on it.
