Well, those are Jewish things first, and Catholic things later.

The term "Passover" came from when the Angel of Death 'passed over' the Israelite homes after seeing the blood on the lintel, thus sparing the firstborn inside from death.

Saul, David, and Solomon were all Jewish leaders. Look them up, they're neat people.

It is a term used in the old testament of the Bible. You have probably heard the story where Moses was attempting to have the Israelites freed. The final curse of that story is that the first born child of every family shall be killed in one night. However, God told Moses that if they took the blood of a sacrificed lamb and painted it right above the front door the first born of that household would be spared or passed over. The next few nights, every house that did not have the lambs blood above it's door, the first child died and nothing could be done by the Pharaohs magicians or religious leaders and the Pharaohs son died. Also, unexplainably, the Israel's oil and sustanence somehow lasted for the duration of this event so that they did not have to leave their homes. In his grief and fear he declared the Israelites were to be set free but only allowed what they could carry on their backs. The next event in this exodus is the parting of the Red Sea when the Pharaoh changed his mind and chased the Israelites. The sacrafice of the lamb, or sheding of it's blood and the covering of the door top is represntative of Jesus Christ in that he was sacraficed and his blood was shed to cover us from certain death and damnation with his blood. Our acceptance of this idea that we are covered in Christ's blood and thus saved from death and eternal damnation is essential to the Christian faith. There are many references to this idea in the old testament starting with Genesis and the expultion fron the Garden. Adam and Eve knew they were naked so covered themselves in fig leaves. God killed a lamb and covered them in the wool. Then proclaimed that His son would do the same with His blood. Cover us. There are still more stories of David, God's favorite to rule the Israelites who sinned by wanting a certain woman and after having sex with her sent her husband to the front lines of the war to be killed. Solomon was the wisest ruler of all and the best story is where two women claimed they were the mother of this baby. Solomon decided the best way to solve the problem was to have the baby cut in half and give each woman half the child. One woman said fine and the other screamed and so no, to let the other woman have the child. Solomon knew that the real mother of the baby would not let the baby be killed. He gave the baby to the woman who screamed to let the other woman have the baby instead of cutting it in half and had the other woman killed instead. Saul is in the New Testament and is better known to us as Paul. Saul set out to persecute and kill all Christians and on his way God showed him the truth of Christ and at that moment Saul became Paul who, more than any other person of the time, did more for the spreading of Christianity. Grab a Bible, look these names and words up in the index and read the stories. They are good.

The festival of passover was to be an annual holiday in honor of the night when the Lord "passed over" the homes of the Israelites, His chosen people, . the Hebrews followed God's instructions by smearing the blood of a lamb on the doorframes of their homes. That night the firstborn son of every family that did not have the blood on the doorframes was killed. God was punishing Paroah because Pharoah kept saying there was no God and that he was better than God so God killed his son and all the first born sons of the non believers . Sounds awful but read what Pharoah did, and that was even more awful You have to understand the culture of the time when it was written, The old movie" The Ten commandments has this in it.

Exodus 12:42-51 When Moses led the Jews out of Egypt. The last plague on Egypt when the angel of death passed over the land, all Jews were to paint on the door frame with blood so the angel would "Passover" their homes and spare them. They are to celebrate this every year in memory of God's mercy. Christians celebrate the resurrection.

As for Saul there are two Sauls. The first is King Saul 1Sam.13. He was chosen by God he started out a man of God, but his power went to his head and he decided he didn't need God anymore and began doing wicked things. God told Samuel the prophet to find another king a son of Jesse from Bethleham. That turned out to be David who gained favor with Saul when he killed Goliath. God had Samuel anoint David as King of Israel then told Saul he was no longer King of Israel. Saul tried to kill David for years til he died. David was a "Man after God's heart." God made a covenant with David, but David sinned. Solomon was a son born to David and Bathsheba he became king after David and was a very wise king, he built the Temple on the temple mount for God.
The second Saul was Paul in the NT.
David and Solomon are ancestors of Jesus.

Simple read Exodus 12:1-5 and 13:1-5

the day 14 of the jewish month Abib (later Nisan in Esther 3:7-8) is the passover Day when they left Egypt, exactly the same day but 1536 years later Jesus died (Luke 22:1-19) this year it was April 2.

IT IS the seventh day of the Jewish month Nisan in the year 33 C.E. Imagine that you are observing events in the Roman province of Judea. Leaving Jericho and its lush foliage, Jesus Christ and his disciples are trudging up a dusty, twisting road. Many other travelers are also on their way up to Jerusalem for the annual Passover celebration. However, more than this tiring climb is on the minds of Christ's disciples.

Saul was the first king of the israelites when they were brought out from egypt. He was chosen by the people. David was a shepard boy who killed Goliath (a giant) and later became King in place of Saul. Solomon was one of David's sons (by Bathsheba).
The first Passover refers to the time when blood from a sacrificial lamb was painted over the doorways of the Israelite slaves living in Egypt to cover/protect them from the slaying of all the firstborn males that was prophesied by Moses to the pharoah because he refused to let the Israelites go free to follow Moses to the Promised land.
Now, Passover marks the shedding of the blood of Christ as mankind's sacrificial lamb to attone for our sins and redeem us.
