There is so much drama... and anger coming from both sides of the fence here. **Do you really hate one another?
I can honestly see why both sides believe the way they believe. I believe in God and I have had personal experiences that Atheists have not, and I cannot prove that to you... which leads to the reason why I see the Atheist side as well. If I had not had the experiences I have had to lead to believe in God, I might be Atheist... but I am not. The reason I am pointing out Atheist and Christians is because that is the two that seem to be fighting so much. I wanna know, do you really hate each other that much? Can't you just accept that each person has their own way of living and you can't force each other to believe in one way or another? If you are gonna answer "Well they do so I am gonna do it back," don't bother. That isn't a justifiable answer, you have to claim your to your own behavior.

By the way, I didn't add this on here to see people fight. I wanna know from YOU and based on your own life, not other people and what other people are doing.

Gwen H: "Science is nice, but the Bible is the word of God. So science is the Devil's work."--- I believe in science too... I think its a little off, don't get me wrong... but I definately believe in science... You had a good point there.

Joe Citizen: I have questioned the existance of God, but I have had very real experiences I cannot deny. That is why I have my beliefs... and I think your reasons for your beliefs are just as good as mine. I just want people to see that. Everyone has their reasons.

I have asked many questions here on this sight; and I was looking for INSIGHT into spiritual guidance and answers; and what I got was BASHING from atheists. I did not understand why they would come to the "Religion/Spirituality" site and bash people for their beliefs. However, I do agree as you say that "some people have not had the experience of experiencing the power of God in their lives."
I am not knocking them for their viewpoints; I am just grateful that I have mine! *smile*

When a question is posed in an offensive way, people will respond AND actually people in here react no matter what because the comfort of being at home secluded from the other give a courage to the otherwise silent to speak foolishly and freely.
The Christian respond to the weird question with logic and sense mostly and the Atheists spewed their thoughts w/o really thinking them through. Mostly they build 'straw man' arguments and then stick to it out of embarassment. And they have been hardened to the truth OR if they see they were wrong they change the subject.
Like this question about the human sacrifice......we are all appalled by the potential meaning of this passage yet the asker says God was pleased?!?! It's these kind of statement that make our blood boil for we can not stand the slander or blasphemy of our Lord. And rightfully so!

There is a lot of drama because People feel the need to correct others mistakes (or what they believe are incorrect points of view). I personally do not feel the need to on here because I don't think that by typing a few words people are going to be converted to Christianity and besides it just causes people to harass you and hurt you for believing what you want to believe. Not Only Christians anyways also Atheists and other religions trying to disprove Christianity. I Just find it curious what people have to say and What people think about each other. Some people just offend you if you say that you are Christian and for that matter some Atheists seem to get attacked too. Well I hate all the hostility But I also will stand up for myself If I feel somebody is insulting me because of what I believe.

No such difficulty. An atheist believes in NO god/desses. which could comprise Allah,Ganesh, Kali, Isis, Thor, Gaia, Danu, etc...maximum English speaking shoppers are on right here and are raised Christian, yet i might say my morals & ideals are from a mix of empathy & society. i'm professional-selection, and so are many Xians and that i'm additionally vegetarian. The Bible is somewhat contradictory. That entire 'no longer killing' difficulty? lots of Xians do no longer seem to have a difficulty with production facility farms, the dying penalty or going to conflict. And in case you study the OT, you do no longer could pass far to study some tale the place the 'chosen ones' are commanded to kill. There are over 30,000 Xian denom's obtainable...there's a clarification why.

I don't hate anyone. I know what I know because I taught myself using any number of references. I publish my findings here in a matter of fact way. Take it or leave it. It is of no consequence to me. I am an atheist. I cannot be moved by anything other than solid evidence. I am a methodical, inquiring, and thorough person. I made a very good living as a troubleshooter before I retired. It is my nature. I am sarcastic to a fault. If someone demands an answer to an obviously foolish question, or to hypothetical questions, I might very well make a flip answer, but not personally insulting. The mood of the question often frames the mood of my answer.

What would make you think I hate anyone? I have my own beliefs and state so when asked. Do I believe in any gods? No. Do I believe in religions? No. Do I believe in an afterlife? No. I'm not going to lie. People post questions like yours every day. What I don't understand is how would you expect me to answer questions if I don't be honest with my own beliefs. Why is my opinion so offensive as to be misconstrued as an attack? All you have to do is disagree with a Christian on here and you get accused of hatred and attacking.

I don't hate anybody on here, nor do I hate people just because they hold different beliefs than me. Personally, to hate someone, you have to get to know them, and I'm just not willing to make that kind of time or energy commitment. Not hating people saves me a great deal of energy I can use to do other things.
I willingly engage in debate and argument on religion, though, because I find it stimulating and enlightening most of the time. Or I take issue with someone spreading falsehoods and crap so I engage them verbally, so to speak.
But that's not hatred in the least - I'm more led by people getting their "facts" - such as they are - correct than anything emotional.

Nah, I don't really hate anyone. I have better things to do with my life to hate others. Ya know how many times this type of question has been asked? I predict another query as this one will be asked later in the week. You have to remember not to take much of what you see here to account.

Well, my feelings about Christians have alot to do with my upbringing. I really don't like the message they have to share, however, some of them are beautiful, wonderful people, and I like the people, just not the message. I try to be as respectful as is possible for me, which is not always up to spec with the Christians, but, I have a different message, one that they don't seem to care for much. However, I have a lot of Christians on my contact list, and I guess they like me for some reason. I really like them.

Several years ago, while in college, I questioned what I'd been taught about evolution. I decided to study it for myself and compare it to creation. What I found in support of evolution was overwhelming and I was appalled at the lack of scientific credence that creationism had. I subsequently "evolved" if you will, away from religion entirely. I don't "hate" religion, but I despise ignorance. Many people are religious simply because they've never questioned their beliefs. That's fine. But if you're questioning me about my beliefs, or lack thereof, then tell me I'm wrong, I'm gonna give you hell.
