I'm sorry it's been so bad for all of you, I know a lot of people that support the military and we should all be very grateful. Check out Operation Gratitude, it's wonderful

Maybe they are mad because they do not get paid enough to fight for our freedoms.

I said MAYBE

Because many of the questions are incredibly bad. In some cases it's because the person posing the question didn't even take the time to scan through those questions already asked to determine if it had been answered or not. Add to that the dreadful lack of spelling or sentence construction and you have a "trifecta" which bewilders the average military member or veteran. Many of us ponder where all the taxes we paid to various school districts went. Some of us are bewildered at the almost total ignorance of the armed forces posed by questioners. Some of those seeking to enlist think it's some sort of flea market where one can negotiate the price or change the standards just to be able to get into that uniform. Better yet are those who only want to know about the pay and the educational benefits with no exposition of the real reason one enlists or gains an appointment in the Armed Forces.
As a man who spent 25 years in the Navy, with eight of those years in Fleet Marine Forces, I'm in agreement with the theory expressed by a British author who spent several years touring and examining the U.S. He came to the conclusion that we have a growing number of people who are masquerading as adults while they are still mentally in seventh grade. Read some of the questions posed in this military forum by people who are not serving or have never served. Were it not for his comforting theory, I would be ill!

Because many of the questions they are answering are pointless political comment instead of an honest question-that is if you are asking that based on the questions and answers here. Read some of the loaded questions and the immediate "You are so right" responses that make no sense and you soon see that some people use this as a political board to "ask questions" their friends can agree with. See the "How are U.S. soldiers different then Hitler's soldiers" question and think that if you are doing what you think right wouldn't you be a little tired of the same BS from the "free thinking" intelligent people that disagree with you; might even make you a little sarcastic.
The people in the military do not consider themselves employed by the military-they are serving in the military. If you are referring to civilian employees of the military then you are current they are employed by the military.

Desertvikings response is sooooo eloquently accurate I will not attempt ot expand....much.

From what I have seen in here from regulars is a high degree of experience, coupled with communications skills. I drop 35 pts off the IQ to come down to level with some of the whining I see in here. Some folks need and deserve the slap in the face answer to wake them up. PC is for the Board Room, not in my Army, Desertvikings Navy or the many Marines beloved Corps.

The quickest way to set off many is to ask that we be nice because they are sensitive. I was doing R Lee Ermey in peoples face before he made his first movie.

We don't get harsh because we had it bad it's because it's appropriate in the military to get harsh, it keeps people alive.

So many stupid questions and answers...

...and don't kid yourselves, biased Conservatives are just as brainy as biased Liberals when it comes to stupid questions being asked and moronic answers given. Add the two together, and there's not a lot of real Questions in the Military section worth answering.

When is someone going to ask about the benefits of custom gear, the muzzle velocity of an M16 compared to its variants or the average day of a fresh recruit?

Its easy when you have to deal with people that live thier lives based off of what hollywood tells them they should think, and we're tired of dealing with people that haven't the slightest clue what our lives are like, or why we do, or did, what WE felt was the right and honorable thing to do. We're tired and frustrated with a part of society that is supposibly about letting people do what they want, critisizing us when we did what WE WANTED to do. I can't speak for all service members or vets, but I didn't join the Marines to learn to art of war just to be told I would never be able to apply my trade. It would be just like a person going to med school and then being told that they will never practice medicine.

1. Stupid questions such as this.
2. People who ask the same question that was asked just two hours prior, who asked the same question that was asked just two hours prior... see where this one's going?
3. We're under a lot of stress in our everyday jobs, and getting to come onto a place like this and be able to use humor to answer legitimate questions despite being stuck in combat zones helps make life easier.

I get tired of some of the dummy's asking stupid things or just trying to start an argument on line.
Now when some one has a serious question I can help with I do try to be polite.

Maybe it is the questions people are asking.. like What was it like over there? Did you kill anyone? Did you see dead people? You think they get tired of the stupid questions and the same old crap.. yes.... maybe if people treated them with more respect and just talked to them like regular people then there would not be the sarcasm.

- Highly political questions, that have no business in the military section.

- Really uneducated questions that seem to be written by five year olds with incorrect spelling, horrible grammer, and little or no puncuation

Probably because they are sick and tired of the ridiculous questions they have to answer from a liberally-biased and cowardly media.

Or maybe you're not accustomed to the vocal tones of heroes?
