im thinking of unity sand, instead of a unity candle, but i dont know how I would seal the container without a lid.

We are doing the sand ceremony as well! We found a two pain picture frame at Target for 14.00$I tried to find the pic. for you, but I didn't have a chance. Anyways it opens at the top and you can pour the sand behind the picture!! Then close it and it keeps the sand in place and sooo much better than just a vase of sand sitting on a shelf! Here is what we are doing. I had to come up with something that we could travel with, as we are getting married on a cruise ship. After our wedding I am going to take the filled container and lay a piece of waxed paper over the top of the sand, then melt sealing wax and pour the wax to the top of the container to seal it. Once the wax is nearly set we will write our wedding date in the top of the wax to complete our keepsake. I hope this helps!

For my daughters wedding 2 yrs. ago, I bought a heart bottle off of Ebay. It comes with a cork & a glass stopper. It makes for a beautiful keepsake. Take a look at the ebay site below.
