It was around 6:50 PM, PST, on September 10th 2007. There were four, and they appeared to be fighter jet planes. Does anyone know why they were there?

No need to get nasty. We never have fly overs.. Marin is a rich county, so we pay to keep the jets away. One pilot went on a joy ride a year ago, and got fined. No, it's not an airshow. I'm wondering if the world has gone to hell and i don't know it...

i've only lived in marin for three years.. didn't know about the flyover thing.. never heard of it.

The answer is quit simple. There is an airbase called Travis in Fairfield just over the hill where several F-16s are parked and scramble incase the Islamic fascist do something stupid again.
Second, there were football games in the Bay Area this weekend and the aircraft flew over on a special waiver issued by the FAA.
And third, there is several airshows going on. You should contact the local FAA Flight Standards District Office in Oakland (FSDO) they will tell where the jets are going to fly. They need a waiver to over fly football or baseball games and the same goes for the airshows.

Someone asked this yesterday. Yesterday at 1300 (Raiders start time) there were 4 jets flying over Oakland and Emeryville.
Today at 1850 (25 minutes before kickoff at The Stick) 4 more evil jets are seen.
What do we think they could be doing???????????????
