Can't they make their argument WITHOUT calling the man who, like the rest of our troops, risks his life everyday to serve his country in Iraq?

Liberals:
Are you willing to stand up and say that the general has LIED about the situation in Iraq? Don't give me any anti-Bush crap either. I've heard it. The general wrote the report HIMSELF that he gave today.

Will you continue to smear him, to drag his name through the mud, to impugn his integrity for the sake of your political agenda?

C'mon libs! Let's hear it! Let's see you take a shot when someone can actually argue back!

October:
Straight yes or no. DID General David Petraeus LIE to the congress and this nation under oath?

Joseph,
THE MAN WROTE THE REPORT HIMSELF! COME OFF IT ALREADY! BUSH HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. Stop impugning his integrity just because YOU don't like what he had to say!

You do realize that many major Democrats are as upset about that obnoxious moveon.org ad as is anyone, right? I know I am.

I was also impressed by how intelligent, well-informed, and collected Petraeus was during his testimony today--and by the fact that he was willing to give it, in public, and under oath.

Why do you assume that all Liberals are automatically against Petraeus? Do me a favor and don't paint me with the brush of extremists, and I won't link you to the KKK, 'kay?

You think a general is risking his life daily over there? He's safer in Iraq than I am on the freeway.

I'm a liberal, and:

-I never said the general lied.
-I'm not anti-Bush.
-I don't smear anybody except Sean Hannity.
-You don't know my political agenda.
-I don't need to take shots at people.

I'm the type of liberal who doesn't believe anything outright that the media puts out. I'm the type of liberal who is strangely fascinated by seeing how far other ignorant liberals online will go to overgeneralize conservatives and vice versa.

When generals release reports to the media while the whole country listens, the message is nearly always political in nature, rather than objective. It's the duty of all Americans to realize this and take it with a grain of sand.

IMO if the democrat leaders do not stand up one way or the other and either say Petraeus lied or tell moveon.org to end it now, they have completely dishonored their party.

EDIT: October, the man has been in the military since 1970, he did not get his job because of Bush. He EARNED it.

Those bigots have lost all right to say they're liberals, or on the left. They're far-right zealots in leftist camo, and there are plenty of them. I've noted that a lot of them espouse obviously racist positions in saying that the Arabs will always continue to fight each other, as well.

Oh look, it's another moron Yahoo Answers asker who's just looking for a political debate. Is there a question you want answered, or do you just want to have post-edit wars with people on the internet?

I don't believe so.

But then again, you need to post reliable sources. And stop backing people solely for the sake of your political agenda.

Why does the Right find it necessary to bow down before Gen. Petraeus- and cry, "We're not worthy, we're not worthy..."- and then jump to their feet & scream, "Hallaluja, the Oracle has spoken!" ??? Get off it -already. Petraeus is just dancing to the tune that Bush whistles. If you still want to believe in La-La Land, Disney World is still open to you... :)

Well, you should be used to that tactic. Liberals often attack the source when they don't like the message.

He is no doubt an honerable man, just as General Colin Powell WAS. But he owes his job to Bush, and he is not going to say anything that Bush does not want him to say.

Just as Powell was he has been converted into an administration yes man.
