My dad had quadruple bypass surgery 6 years ago,and he was 76 at the time.He was ill with Parkinson's ,diabetes and the heart problems. He came through the surgery fine, but the recovery period was quite long, due to his age and health problems. He's still with us at age 82.

I am an Occupational Therapist and have worked with many people that have had a CABG. The ages are very diverse but I see it much more often as people are getting older :) If you are planning on having surgery your doctor should talk to you about all the pro's and cons. I can tell you that with all the people that I have worked with they go through Rehab quite smoothly and return to home.

My mom had a quadruple bypass last year, she was 51.

My uncle had a triple bypass a few years ago, he was in his late 30's.

Both are fine now. :)

Yes. My ex-husband just had it done last April. He was only 51 but his family has a hereditary problem with cholesteral that made him have to have one so young. He thought his life was over and that he would die. But he didn't and now he feels better than he has in 20 years, he says. We are all very happy for him. They certainly do miracles nowadays.
