I fly about 75,000 miles a year for work and I never check baggage and I have had no problem at all with this. Yes it is annoying, but all you need is some little bottles and a zip-loc baggie... which I already used anyway; the little bottles take up less space, so I can pack for a 5-day work trip with just a rollaboard, and the zip-loc baggie protects my clothes in case anything leaks.
It's really not that hard...

Of course you Can carry toothpaste and liquids on a plane...in your CHECKED luggge! You must limit what you carry in your carry -on to the 3 oz sizes....but who actually needs a large bottle of shampoo or a large tube if toothpaste in their CARRY-ON bag? What would you do with it DURING the flight anyway? See website below to understand the regulations correctly.

You can carry liquids - just in limited quantities. If ya want to take toothpaste on the place just buy one of the small tubes and ya can take it on.
It can be annoying but its just something else to take into consideration when packing ya bag, and once ya on the plane didn't matter too much anyway.

I really do, I hate having to purchase drinks at the airport they're too expensive. Besides what purpose does it really serve, they can still bring explosive liquid on as long as its in a 3oz bottle. They don't check to see what you have, only that its 3oz or less.

I know it sucks. You just need to buy little toothpaste and little bottles to fill with liquids you want to bring. But at is better than risking getting blown up.
