One must be alive to be on the rolls of the church.

we keep records of all who have been baptized and who have been baptized by proxy in the temple. But if they are not alive they do not show up as a member of the church in statistics.

No, we don't count ANY dead people as members, even those who were members when they die.

We can't count anyone a member if they don't physically tell us they want to join.

When we do vicarious baptisms, We list, as much as possible, the names of whomever we have already baptised, bu that's it, we don't say they are now Mormons. j

No. Only living members count towards the current membership count.
If we counted living and dead there would be well over the 12-13 million that there are now.

And if you decide to leave the church and have your name removed from Church records you are not counted.
