Absolutely, Atlantis and Lemuria to name a couple. Some references came from Plato and other philosophers. As to the highest point of civilization in Atlantis was over a period of some 200,000 years. They became the dwellers in rocks, caves or nest in the trees. The Lemurians were basically a peaceful spiritual people who followed the Law of the One and the Atlantians were war like and had great knowledge of technology and were the Sons of Belial, perhaps the god Baal in the old Testament. Another reference comes from the Sumerian clay tablets discovered in Nineveh, in the late 1800's. Ashurbanipal's extensive library near Babylon, present Iraq. Over 100,000 tablets have been interpreted. A lot of these artifacts and tablets were destroyed when we bombed Bag dad. There are some in museums in Germany and other parts of the world. Many gods and goddesses mentioned in the tablets. Ra, Enki, El, Ninurta, Ninlil, too many to mention. Some say the tablets are 6,000 to 12,000 years old. The Supreme Being never intended to start a religion, he left that to man.

The earliest show of religion is "the stone goddess". It is a series of small stone statues (from the stone age of course) that were carved at the end of the last ice age. They were found in many caves of northern europe.
There was also some evidence of shrines and other forms of worships (food gifts and such) devoted to these statues.
She apparently represented the "benevolent mother". She was relatively "strong built", had large breasts (or many pairs) and was often depicted with open, welcoming arms...
Here's a link. It's not the oldest one, but it's an anatolian goddess dating 9 000 BC:

If you're looking for million years-old signs, remember that you have to decide at which point humans became humans... That's a tough cookie.

You maybe live in a developped country.
I suggest, save some money, go to any uncivilized island or place .
Still plenty in my country.
They do have sort of religion. People instinctively know that they are limited, but at the same time they also know(instinctively) that they have desires.
The bushmen/women, have to fight against natural "disaster" like wild animals, thunder storms etc etc.
They did do some drawings, very primitive.
I believe one day, once the forest is opened they too want to hold on something; then only when they(or their great grand children) live in a place like USA and nothing to worry anymore, road is wide, house is strong, plenty of clothing to cover, plenty of food available in the store, they then think how stupid their ancestors was.
Mankind cries when they need something , then they WISH, when they get it, they think it's their hands and knees that do it.

There isn't a prehistoric era, only about 75 years (roughly) passed before the beginning of writing, Adam and Eve were created as intelligent adults with language already built into thier mind. there just was no need for writing till after Adam and Eve's children moved away.
And God talked to Adam and Eve since the beginning, It wasn't till after the fall of man that he became more distant, And it wasn't till Jesus was ressurected and the holy spirit came down to earth that God himself wasn't an active part on earth. He resided inside the ark of the covenant (hence why only the hih priests could move it and only by using wood poles)
The whole evolution from monkeys is impossible, and fact was that dinosaurs were alive till about 30 days out of the 3 months of the flood. (It only rained for 40 days but the water didn't reside until the oceans opened up)

Any drawing could be considered religious. Not christian religion but religion. Most cave art is of animals. The food source. It is quite possible that they did this as a religious ceremony. Animals were life. Now some people see god as life.

There is some evidence of religion in prehistoric times. However, what those religious beliefs were is frequently unclear since by definition these people had no writing and thus no way of transmitting beliefs and ideas in a preservable form.

I also have a difficulty with Gore the guru who flies around a gas guzzling jet.So does Queen Pelosi who opted for an even bigger one to fly to and fro to California.bear in ideas her asserting she needs to keep the planet, yeah she flies we walk.we can all initiate via utilizing the hot skill saving easy bulbs. Oh I forgot they're those with mercury in them.Oh,properly sounds like a solid concept on the time. i think you all heard that some genius flesh presser had to tax cow farmers for any that very own greater desirable than one hundred for emitting "methane gas" yeah this is actual.can we bottle it extremely?Or on 2d concept deliver some from the bull to that flesh presser as he's time-honored with the B.S. whilst he sees or smells it.

you can trace the origins of the bible from various middle eastern cultures, and there are religions that have evolved all over the world that have nothing to do with the abrahamic faith. archaeologists can only speculate about the purpose of many prehistoric artifacts, but some cultures left artifacts from their own prehistory. egypt, sumeria, and greece have left a lot of evidence of prehistoric religion that can be corroborated with recorded practices. i assume the same is true of eastern and european religions, but i have not studied their prehistory.

When God created Adam and Eve, the first people, He also created dinosaurs (along with all the other animals). Adam and Eve knew God personally. Hence, a personal relationship with God from the beginning, not a religion. So man always knew there was a God. However, since first man fell away from God, someone had to bring them back again into that relationship. (which man messed up in the first place)
That someone is Jesus Christ. He is the bridge between God the Father, and man.
I don't believe there were prehistoric times. I believe man and dinosaur existed at the same time, and there are cave drawings all over the world. In the book of Job, it speaks of cave dwellers.
"They were driven out from among men, they shouted at them as at a thief. They had to live in the clefts of the valleys, in caves of the earth and the rocks. Among the bushes they brayed, under the nettles they nestled. They were sons of fools, Yes, sons of vile men; They were scourged from the land." Job 30:5-8 The book of Job, also speaks of dinosaurs living with man--
"Look now at the BEHEMOTH, which I made ALONG WITH YOU; He eats grass like an ox. See now, his strength is in his hips, and his power is in his stomach muscles. HE MOVES HIS TAIL LIKE A CEDAR; the sinews of his thighs are tightly knit. HIS BONES ARE LIKE BEAMS OF BRONZE. His ribs like bars of iron. HE IS THE FIRST OF THE WAYS OF GOD; only He who made him can bring near His sword. Surely the mountains yield food for him, and all the beasts of the field play there. He lies under the lotus trees, in a covert of reeds and marsh. The lotus trees cover him with their shade; The willows by the brook surround him. Indeed the river may rage, yet he is not disturbed; he is confident, though the Jordan gushes into his mouth, though he takes it in his eyes, or one pierces his nose with a snare." Job 40:15-24 If you read Job 41, you will read about a dragon.

Cave paintings provide evidence of religion prior to written history.
Also, the Australian Aborigines are remnants of a pre-literate culture that have a rich religious tradition. Also the American Indians have rich religious teachings that for many years have been primarily oral, using pictograms for teaching tools only.
