Like how many should I do every day? How many times?

Right now I can only do about 7 "real" push ups in a row, I want to get at least 23 by February.

Do your 7 push ups 6 days a week, along with your other exercises. After the first week, just do one more push up a day. Work towards making that one more push up a good one. As soon as that one is a good one, add one more push up a week. Making it better each time.

If you are having a problem getting the quality of the "next" push up good, divide the number of push ups you do between morning and evening so that each push up is a good one. After you have all those push ups good, do them together. Continue...

Practice! do them three times a day. eventually your seven will become ten each time and so on! build yourself up. Do not kill your self! Take it slow at first increase slowly. You'll be able to do much more than 23 if you stick to it.
