I LOVE ice cream. The problem is so does my dad who is supposed to be on a diet. So whenever I buy ice cream, no matter where in the freezer i hide it, my dad always eats most of it and then wonders why he isnt losing weight!! But whenever I tell him to stop eating it, he tells me he only had a spoonful when really he goes through at least a pint a day!! I dont know what to do so I can still eat ice cream and not have my dad eat it all.....

buy one for each of you. that way you get your share and when the weight issue comes up just smile and ask if there is anything he wants at the grocery store!!!!!On a more serious note, maybe you could tell him you are concerned about his health and will share with him. then only get it when you want it. don't have it waiting around for him.

YourQ brought a wide smile to my face,A simular memory of
my mother. Get a different contain of some sort, to either put
the ice cream container in, or a same size and scope the ice cream into a different container and don't put it up front in freezer. Good luck!

What a dilemma, but its okay he's your loving dad. The next time when buy ice cream purchase diet ice cream for him and of course regular ice cream for yourself. Make sure your ice cream is hidden and make his obvious so he can see when your dad opens the freezer.

Once he gets a taste for the diet ice cream he may not want the regular type you eat. The diet ice cream would help with his weight and help lower his cholesterol. Make sure you purchase his favorite type his likes, and now you will be able to help your dad with his weight, and of course save your ice cream from him...God bless

I love the idea of putting it in a different container. I was going to suggest putting it in Tupperware but putting it in a zip lock or something then putting it in side the bag of broccoli or the box of tofu nuggets would really do the trick! Great idea, Jenny!

Just a buy a small freezer and keep it up in your own room so he can't get to it. Or just stop buying it all together. My dad does the same thing, except it's with my beer kegs that I buy
