The Bible is quite clear that salvation involves 'eternal life.' Life cannot be eternal if it could be lost right?
And no, I don't consider it a dangerous doctrine and here is why. I think the problem that quite a few people have is a lack of understanding about Biblical "repentance" and salvation. The word "repentance" in the Bible means "a turn around." Making a U-turn is a good example of repentance. The Bible clearly teaches that repentance is necessary for salvation. So don't think that Christians have a license to sin; on the contrary, they will be held more accountable to God if they are sinning in the knowledge of the truth.

Basically you are, once you are Saved (Spirit Recreated).
Regular ole Sins won't mess up your Spirit Again and make you Loose your Salvation---but the "Reap what you Sow " Spiritual Laws will get you---and JOHN LAWMAN will get you Too!
Child of GOD who sinned: Oh GOD , Why am I in Prison?
GOD: because you Robbed a Filling Station!
the Unpardonable Sin that will Mess Up your Spirit AFTER you are Saved and send you to Hell with no Second Chances is: HEBREWS 6: 4,5,6
You have to do 5 things befor you can even Commit the Unpardonable Sin.
The Rule of Thumb is this: if you Think you have Commited the Unpardonable Sin and you are Scared that you have Lost your Salvation then You HAVE NOT Committed it.
People who Commit this (Very Few Children of GOD commit this sin but it happens) don't want NOTHING to do with Jesus, GOD, Heaven, Christian Bro.'s and Sis.'s, Bible so on AT ALL.
The Unpardonable Sin is not: murder, rape, doing drugs, cussing, lying, stealing, being gay, so on.......

not everyone who was once "saved" and then went on to renounce the church is dangerous, unless you guys think that healing yourself with herbs and studying the positions of the stars is going to harm someone else.
Oh my, she has a tarot deck, run for cover! she's lighting a candle as a form of active prayer, she's going to kill someone next!
I'll tell you something, i was 5 when i came to an understanding of what repenting was and did so. I was 12 when i realized there had to be something more, something better and more fulfilling.
Ten years after "repenting" i realized paganism was my path and i don't feel i have become unconnected to the Divine, i just connect to it differently than you do.
I look back on the last 25 years of my life as a pagan and i am proud of it and all the good i was able to do. In the end that's what really counts.

You are correct in your assumption. Let me reenforce you here. Once saved always saved removes accountabilty. Do as you please, you're going to heaven anyway. You see how wrong that is?
What calvanist will say is that if you are TRULY saved then you are always saved. Also some baptist believe that piece of doctrine. I rather not walk that fine line. I'll assume that I can loose my salvation because of neglect or out and out rebellion against God. May God have mercy on me.

If a person says that he or she is he is saved then commits a horrible crime such as murder, I would question it. When you''re saved, really saved, a person is a new creature in Christ, we learn to follow in the footsteps as our supreme example, Jesus. Sure we're going to make mistakes but the holy spirit is there to help us get back on track. We've been put in the fathers hand and no one can snatch us out.

If you are truly saved, you follow Christ. You change your life to reflect His life.
If you look at the lives of some of the Bibles patriarchs, you'll see a life of sin, turning to Christ, and becoming great Christians. Moses murdered a man. Paul was at the execution of Stephen. David murdered. They all were great Christians. They all turned TO God and FROM sin. We cant judge murderers as sinners who will go to hell. We have all lied, and that is a sin just as murder.
I do think the "once saved always saved" is flawed. Because if you are TRULY saved, you will not stray.

The Bible speaks several times about coming out of your backsliding state. They had to have been right with God or he would have said repent and get right with God. When god saves us and then we do our own thing God is not pleased with that then we are in a backsliding state. Hope I made it more clear. Peace and God bless

Not true. But the choice is ours as of how we choose to live our lives. We are aiming for perfection in the Lord. We are tempted on every side. There is repentance for us all. We shall enter into the heavens with tribulations. This is scripture.

I agree I believe without repentance the is no remission of sin,and the very act of asking for forgiveness requires that you repent and ask for forgiveness for that sin witch you feel or have become convicted in the spirit of.
