i just looked at my cat. hes 7 and is black and white. on his back it looks like little spots of his hair has faded but its not skin. can you please tell me it is???? it wasnt there yesterday!!!!!!

i just noticed that the white spots were powder.

Are you saying his fur is fallin out in places? If his hair is falling out in spots, you need to take him to the vet. He could have been bitten or scratched by another cat and have an infection.

i do agree with all the other responders...but here is another theory as well. Believe it or not...cats and dogs age (just like us)...their features do change as they get older and their hair changes color..sometimes even grays.

I have a 17 yr old male orange tabby. you can tell by looking at his face that he is an old guy and his fur has lightened ALOT in the last several years...he even has some white and gray now.

so this may also be a possibility.

If he received a flea treatment or vaccinations in the past few days, this sounds like an allergic reaction.

If you're worried, have an appointment made for a checkup for him.

some cats have allergic reactions to flea bites and it causes bald spots.
