Sounds like you're just as much to blame in escalading the problem and trying to create a female conspiracy against the poor kid.

Completely ignore him. He keeps taunting you because he's getting a reaction from you. If you ignore him, he'll get bored and go bother someone else. If he threatens you tell a trusted adult. Keep his texts as proof if he keeps bullying you so you can show that you're not making this up. But just start by completely ignoring him. If he walks by, don't even look at him, just look ahead and walk by.
Good luck.

Don't text him anymore.
If he was really trying to kill his cat, he is dangerous. Was he really, or were you exaggerating? If he was, you need to report this behavior, but if not, just ignore him. I don't quite blame you for pushing him into the locker, but it wasn't the smartest thing to do. You should behave in a manner beyond reproach: cool but polite. That way, everybody can see who the real troublemaker is. In fact, he may lose interest if you don't react to him.

It really doesn't sound like he's worth the hassle of trying to figure out. Some people are so miserable that the only way they can feel better about themselves is to make others feel worse. Stay away from him and ignore it. He's not worth you getting in trouble.

Just live your life.. ignore this creep.. and eventually hell get bored and move on.
and just know that in 10 years this loser is going to be going nowhere in life and pathetic and you are going to be a great person doing great things (trust me.. im 24 now and ive seen where all those jerks end up... big fat bums who live with their parents and have no future)

I'm not sure what grade you're in, but regardless, here's the deal.
In my experience with school, which yeah was some time ago but not THAT long ago... fighting back never worked. Number one, i got my butt kicked, and THEN i got in a huge amount of trouble when I got home... So the best play I can give you.. is make him really angry until he does something really outrageous like tries to hurt you.. but make sure it's in front of your teachers. By making him angry i don't mean antagonize him... just let him try to get to you.. and when he can't get to you, you'll get to him---promise!

You stop texting him for starters then you ignore him and his ignorance. The more you react the more control over you he has. Pretend he doesnt exist and he will stop trying all of these stunts to get your attention!
