that you were polar opposites in high school, you know, the obnoxious jock and the super quiet nerdy library girl. Is there hope?

i even said once, I bet you were type that would go hooting and hollering through the library with your sweaty friends and take the book out of my hands so I'd lose my place! and he tried not to grin. I put his deflated pigskin through the food processor the next morning and served it on his oatmeal.

What matters is now. We all were someone else in those years, and that has little bearing on the current situation, other than some memories to laugh about. If you two are in love, and get along with out constant bickering, it seems a bit silly to judge each other by who you both are not now.
I was the party animal type in school, my wife was like you. We both went through bad marriages, and got together, been happily married for 10 years now, not the first fight ever. The past is just that. The past.

Look around and see the people who are in "good" relationships. Notice they are the ones just loving and living. Not asking endless questions about themselves and their partner. Its called acceptance and is it a huge contributor to happiness. Even in a relationship, live and let live.
Go to the bloody library if you want to and laugh at his response.
Then hug each other and make love.
The more you look into your relationship the more you will find to not like. The happy people learned long ago to be blind to some stuff and to work hard at the things that feel good. Hence middle aged (and longer) great partnerships.
Relax, and GO GIRL !!!!

What these people were in high school has very little to do with what they are in middle age. Good grief, they have had a whole lifetime to grow, develop, and mature. That is why so many teenage marriages don't last. People need time to become themselves. If they are in a good relationship now, then what difference does it make what they were like that long ago.

You know people change over time, who you are now is what is important to the 2 of you..Life is tough enough so enjoy your lives together...They always say that complete opposite attract .. Just be happy that you have a great relationship..well if you do...

Hope for what? You're middle aged, in a "good love relationship" and you're worried about who you were over 20 years prior? Why?

I'm sorry, but I don't see the point of your question...you've already said the relationship is good, so it doesn't need hope. It's working.

Gotta live in the presence. Past matters not.
Think of the key to the great mystery of life; love, forgive, forget.

100% most certainly yes. Differences are great in relationships and give us all something to talk about in our relationships.
