how come when we talk about anything concerning money, if it is bad it is the Republicans fault if it is good it must because of something that the Democrats got passed. Y'all probably still believe that we are in Iraq for there Oil. never mind if that was the case we wouldnt be paying 3 a gallon for the gas because we would have way more than enough supply. Also While I'm talking about OIL why are we not drilling in Alaska? the Moose would love to stand near the pipelines to keep warm. They do everywhere else in Alaska.

You are wrong. The price of diesel has been up around 30% higher on average than it was two and a half years ago. The grocer's and their suppliers, unfortunatley did not have an endless supply of food stocked away for eternity. The cost had to be passed on to the consumer eventually.

It is still relative to the cost of energy.

everything that we buy 1/2 of its cost is related to the cost of oil. Energy for farm equipment, /
transportation / manufacture / many materials are petrol products or packaged in petrol products.
Packaging energy for cold storage Energy for heat for cooking for sterilization and on and on.
people that got caught loosing because they did not raise there prices to compensate soon enough, have now learned to simply follow the oil market with there own price increases, as this is the only way that they can keep from loosing in the market fluctuations because of oil.
prices.

High gas prices AND more foods being turned into ethanol - is what's driving the prices up. And get USED TO IT. With fewer illegals around to do the backbreaking work of harvesting field crops -more farmers are going out of business. So THOSE crops are coming from Abroad- & it's more expensive to ship them- ESPECIALLY those that come all the way from China... :)
