What's the diffrence between a double or single french horn?
Which is better?

The difference is range... A single horn is limited to a single key F or Bflat which can be changed by swapping slides. A single is supposed to be easier to learn on but may be a little more difficult to play higher notes on unless the slide is swapped to the higher key.

A double horn as an extra valve which allows the player to change the instruments key while playing. This makes it easier play higher notes on the fly without having to swap a piece of tubing.

The extra valve and tubing will make the double instrument more expensive.

In my opinion If you are a student and have zero experience a single will do.
