My favorite recipe for brussels sprouts is found at www.allrecipes.com (just search shredded brussels sprouts) - here is the recipe:

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 pound sliced bacon
1/4 cup butter
2/3 cup pine nuts
2 pounds Brussels sprouts, cored and shredded
3 green onions, minced
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS:
Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until crisp. Drain, reserving 2 tablespoons grease, crumble and set aside.
In the same skillet, melt butter in with reserved bacon grease over medium heat. Add pine nuts, and cook, stirring until browned. Add Brussels sprouts and green onions to the pan, and season with seasoning salt and pepper. Cook over medium heat until sprouts are wilted and tender, 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in crumbled bacon just before serving.

I also change this up by adding some shredded carrot and garlic. I typically don't have green onion so usually substitute regular yellow onion or vidalia onion. I also usually don't have bacon on hand so just use a bit of water or olive oil to steam/saute and then add a bit of butter at the end for some flavor.

Note: I really can't shred brussels sprouts using my grater so I just chop them and it works fine.

This is an awesome recipe so I hope you like it.

I steam them for 10-15 minutes over the pot of spuds, until I get to the way I like them.
All green vegetables are good if they aren't over cooked.
Lightly salted, is all I have.

I usually don't like them, but I recently boiled the frozen ones and added a little pepper, butter, and garlic, and they were very good!

They are good (and good for you), but I eat mine with butter or cheese sauce.

I also have to be in the mood for them - I couldn't eat them every day.

They are very good for you. You should steam or boil them then melt Velveeta cheese and pour on top. Do not overcook.

no - all you can do is hold your nose and eat them - you can soak them in butter or other sauces, but then they wouldn't be lo-cal, would they?...they are very healthy, as are most cruciferous vegetables
