I was raised to believe that there is a god, who punishes you by dropping you in a pit of fire, but now I'm questioning why I should believe in a basically mythical creature, who's only proof of existing is a book written thousands of years ago. Also, even if he did exist, why would I want to worship a person who believes that he is the ultimate achievement and proudly displays it in such an un-modest way. Dedicating an entire day to himself? Look at Hitler, look at god. The only difference I see is a mustache. If you speak out against him, you're damned. If you believe other than he does, you're damned. If you do anything what so ever to dis-please him, and do not kiss his feet and ask for forgiveness after word, you're damned. Is there others who believe as I do? Am I alone?

You do not know his character. You do not understand. Study more and you will see that hell was created for devils and not for mankind. No one from mankind has to go there - that is why he sent Jesus to die - so that anyone who looks to Christ for forgiveness will be saved and able to spend eternity with God.

And simply - why would you want to worship him? Because he is your creator - look at the marvels of his universe, look at the stars at night and the beauty of creation and see that he is wise and creative and powerful and then look to Jesus and see how much he loves you - so much that he is willing to die rather than live without you.

I hope that you truly know him someday. Seek his face if you desire peace, joy, hope, and if you desire to know how to truly love another person.

Are you sure that you were not taught the Koran instead of the Bible? Hopefully, you will learn who and what GOd REALLY is before you reject Him so out of hand. Hopefully, you will objectively seek to correct the misguided information you are currently basing your decisions on. I say this in all humility due to my experience as such an imperfect human. Thankfully, though, I have accepted His grace and forgivness in my life.

differences between God and Hitler

a) atleast God is big on forgiveness. you can get trillions of chances in life to repent
b) God isn't an anti-semetist, but loves all equally
c) God never dedicated a day to Himself. the Sabbath was for man's benefit, Sunday was created by the church, as was Christmas (yes I know it was taken from yuletide, so what?), Easter (again, taken), and Palm Sunday.
d) there's room for human error (hence, repentance) with God

God vs. Hitler? Are you joking?

Christ came and died for your sins; he himself took the suffering for your sins. If you understand nothing else about God (which apparently you understand very little), know this:

He is so eager to KEEP you from the penalty of your own sin, that he allowed himself to be tortured and murdered with great suffering to save you.

Spurning someone who loves you so much is foolish. If nothing else, at least consider what he had to say for you before you reject him with cavalier dismissal.

If you can't see any character differences between God and Hitler, then that just proves you need to study the Bible more.

Ever heard the 23rd Psalms?

324 The emperor Constantine declares Christianity as the only official religion of the Roman Empire. In Dydima, Minor Asia, he sacks the Oracle of the god Apollo and tortures the pagan priests to death. He also evicts all non-Christian peoples from Mount Athos and destroys all the local Hellenic
temples.

If a god existed who would torture people for eternity for not believing in him, such a being would be a sadistic narcissist, and unworthy of worship. Lucky thing there is no such being. :)

I was raised to believe that God so loved the world that He gave His only son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. I was taught to believe that God loves us and does not want any one to perish.

>>Am I alone?

Considering that there are over 4 billion people on this planet who aren't Christian, I'd say that's a "no".
