OKAY but she will start talkin to ME first and it's when I say soemthing that doesn't AGREE with her THEN she gets mad( guess I should have been more specific about THAT) like she literally loses her temper and tells me to "shut-up- WHO asked you?" and she is the one who has asked me- i just let her go off because she IS my mom but this is thing that is like a generational curse...my GRANDMOTHER does the exact same thing- just behave IRRATIONALLY .but when you TELL them that it DOEA sound to them like you are saying that the are bad.ANY mature and SECURE person should be able to take critism, especially if I can take it from her and it ISN'T always TACTFUL -if you know what I mean-Just because you are a parent doesn't EXCUSE you to talk to your children ANY kind of way. They are people with likes and dislikes JUST like you and should not be devalued...and WORDS stick!!

it is always harder to hear the truth. i think it is because if we do not know for sure we can hope it is one way but after you hear the truth it is all out in the open.

Because the truth hurts and people do not like seeing themselves in a bad way. Some people can not accept that they are not bad it is just their action that is bad. So when you tell them something bad about themselves they think that you are saying that they are bad. You could try saying,"Mom, I really love you and right now you are being overbearing. How can we compromise on this particular subject?" She should take that better than the usual," Mom, you are always so overbearing." You are saying the same thing just in a way that doesn't offend. And you are willing to work through the issue with her. I hope this helps.

The truth sometimes hurts. But sooner or later if we are mature enough we realize that the person who is only trying to help by telling the truth is right and we should be grateful. Doesn't happen overnight though so be careful and if necessary use caution when explaining the truth to mom.

People don't want to hear the truth unless they ask for it. If your mom wants to make a fool of herself it is her right as an adult. If she wants your advice she will ask you for it. Otherwise you are just wasting your time and breath. Stop butting in where you aren't asked to be involved or you will get the reputation of being a know-it-all and people will stay angry at you. I'm telling you the truth. I hope I didn't make you mad.

Nobody wants to be told the truth, their egos cannot handle it. It isn't a good idea to be so honest with parental unit when it comes to their behavior all it's going to do is cause YOU trouble. When Mom is being bossy...you can think it to yourself....you just can't tell her.

I was thinking that regarding this site. Sometimes the truthful correct answer does not win because people do not want to accept reality. I think at some point you will come to realize your mother does not want to listen to you, and you will detach and move on.

exciting question for Media & Journalism. i've got not got a difficulty with the reality, even while i'm incorrect. the problem I even have is while the "fact" is unsubstantiated or biased for private agendas, you detect this lots in political discussions.

She doesn't like to admit that she is wrong. In her mind if everything is right or true she has to be perfect. An when shes not right she doesn't like it, therefore, she gets mad or mean.
