How long after your baby's first step did he/she walk? My 9 month old girl just took her first unassisted step and kept her balance! I'm so happy! But how long do I have before I have to put my running shoes on?

I hope it's within the next 23 days. My daughter's grandma and grandpa are going to Slovakia and I hope they don't miss her first steps. :)

You really never can tell. It depends on the baby, because they are all different. It could be tomorrow or it could be another week or more. My baby walked about a week after her his 1st steps, but my friends son took about two weeks after.

It is different with every child.

Our son would pull up and cruise around furniture and went from cruising to walking a few steps in a few short weeks

Our daughter crawled backwards for a long time and then started pulling herself up on dining room chairs and would walk a few steps at first and about two months later she went to full toddling across the room to get to whatever she needed. By 9 months she was toddler running, that was so much fun!

i would say a month because my 1 year old nephew walked 3 steps then fell down and didnt walk for about 2 weeks then he just recently started walking across the room.
