No man is righteous and perfect and holy enough to cleanse us from sin and make us right with God Himself, except Jesus Chris†.
That's why God sent His Son who laid down His own life and was crucified for all sin, so that through Christ we would have a "way" to be reconciled with God, and know the truth of God concerning sins and forgiveness and be made righteous before God through Him so that we can have "life" and have it more abundantly.
Even unto eternal life, otherwise without Him, we would all be guilty and fall short of the glory of God and perish. "All have fallen short of the glory" "None is good but God""man's righteousness, is but filthy rags to God" Scripture says
That's why Jesus said, {"I" am the way, "I" am the truth and "I" am the life. No one comes unto to the Father, 'except' through Me"} -John 14:6†
Jesus Christ IS the "Mediator" between us and God. -1 Timothy 2:5†
No mere human being can cleanse and obsolve sins, and make us right with God in God's eyes, except Jesus Christ who is our "lawyer/Mediator" between us and God who is Judge. That's why He was both man and God. He does for us what no man, no priest or other way, not even ourselves can do. God's Forgiveness comes through Jesus Christ alone. That is God's Word.
"Behold, I stand and the door and knock, whoever hears My voice and opens the door unto Me, I will come in.."
Just ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart & life and to cleanse you of all sin, and to help make you right with God. He will. "For though sins are like crimson, they shall be like wool, white as snow" It is Christ's blood that cleanses us and His spirit that makes us right in our hearts. Once our sins are forgiven, "they are remembered no more".
He wipes the slate clean and purifies our hearts, giving us even an new heart and new desires, and a new life through Him,and helps us do those things that we wouldn't otherwise do or be able to do ourselves.
"Ask and ye shall receive, seek and ye shall find, knock and the door shall be opened unto you"
"She shall bring forth a Son, thou shalt call His Name Jesus for He shall save His people from their sins."
Matt 1:21†
"Whoever tries to save his own life shall loose it, but whosoever looses his life for My sake, shall find it."
Matt 16:25†

Yom Kippur is all about repentance. On Rosh Hashana, you turn inward and begin to consider where you may have been wrong and how you could have done it better. It is a New Year - a time for fresh beginnings. But on Yom Kippur, you have had ten days to do your inner searching and should have found some things that you are sorry about, so you ask God for forgiveness. However, if have hurt another person, you have to ask the person for their personal forgiveness, at least three times if they reject you the first two times...because they need time to consider your repentance.
Its a true repentance, but not in a confessional box. Jews say prayers of repentance together, acknowledging that all humans are falliable, and that no one can "sit this one out".
So, that is one way to look at life.

Let me tell you something, and I hope I'm not too late.Going inside what I call a closet and confessing your sins to a flesh and blood man is completely biblically wrong. What can he do for you?The only mediator between man and God is Christ Jesus.
First off, calling the priest father is a no no.Why?Because God in heaven is your father.Second of all, merely praying to a statue of Mary is idolatry.See where I'm going with this.Legs that walk, have knees that will bow.The living room couch in the middle of the night makes a great alter. You humble yourself before the lord.Pray to the God above.Repent of your sins to Christ Jesus, and ask him to save you and come into your heart and your life.It will be the greatest thing you have ever done.

No it is unnecessary because we as Christians should all have our own personal relationship with Christ. You going to a confessional is like having to ask your mom for forgiveness but asking your sister instead.
I believe in confessing our sins to each other (Christians) but not for repentance.
Also Jesus Christ is our high priest so the old testament priests and their sacrifices are done away with because a new order of priest were put in it's place starting with our high priest Jesus Christ who sits at the right hand of God interceding for us.

No. The confessional is a Catholic belief. You can pray to God to forgiveness. The only mediator between man and God is Jesus, not a priest.

You mean according to the Bible, or according to Catholicism.
The Bible says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1John 1:9
Ac 10:43 All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."
Ac 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Catholicism on the other hand holds other Christians in concept reckoning those who believe in Christ, but are not catholics are condemned to hell. The Cathoilc church is an elitist denomination putting their priests in the place of God.

Confessional is not required. If you are catholic, they sometimes think it is necessary, but the place and time does not matter to God, it is your heart. Confession is between you and God, not you, God and your priest.

Christ meant the Church to have an intermediate between ourselves and God. it fairly is the reason appointed his apostles as his ambassadors (John 20:21-23, 2 Corinthians 5:11-21). Jesus grow to be Jewish and being Jewish he understood that purely by way of penance one must be forgiven their sins via God. in case you study the previous testomony the Israelites/Jews could confess their sins to the Priest and supply alternatives for their sins to be forgiven via God. What has occurred is that Protestants abandoned those traditions and falsifies scripture to suite their very own ideals. history tells a various tale related to the early Christians. The apostles have been the 1st Bishops who in turn had successors, and the Bishops charged there co-workers the Presbyters (clergymen) with the holy Spirit to reconcile sins interior the direction of the Church. via reconciling the sins interior the direction of the Church God forgives the sins. For sins that are no longer deadly they are in a position to be forgiven via prayer or by way of holy Eucharist. yet for sins that are deadly that are blasphemes in direction of the holy Spirit purely interior the direction of the healing grace of the holy Spirit they are in a position to be forgiven via God (a million John 5:sixteen-17). What are the sins that injury the grace of the holy Spirit? they're sins that a individual prepared commits, is familiar with what they're doing is incorrect and are in violation of God's ethical commandments.

Nope, the only one you need to confess to is Jesus.
He is the only one capable of forgiving us of our sins, in fact He already has, you just need to repent(turn right around from your sin and don't look back). Bless you.

It says that we should confess an repent of our sins. It does not say where or to whom we should confess. How about confessing to he who has not sinned? As for the repent, go forth and sin no more.
