The Universe has any meaning you wish to give it. And I am a special case to my self and perhaps to my family;y, but unfortunately to no one else. If you and I died tomorrow, what difference will it make to the Universe?
But your wish to be special, and carry on living for ever somewhere, explains the origin of religion and the need some people have for it. The idea that when we die, that is the end for ever, is too terrible for most people to contemplate. Dear Morganie, carry on dreaming.

My life is a special case because I want into be. It is really that simple. If you don't think your life is special try thinking in less than universal terms.

It isn't a special case. Any meaning I bring to my life is purely my own idea. My belief that my husband, children, and students are a good reason to get out of bed in the morning isn't a "special" meaning. It is personal.

It isn't unless I do something worthwhile with it. In that case it may have a positive impact on those around me and future generations but that is extremely unlikely. I will settle for not being a special case.

because it is important to me. Just as I assume that your life is important to you.
Don't look to the Universe or to some god who lives in the sky to give your life meaning. Work it out for yourself !!!
