Go to bed at a decent hour. If you get at least 8 hours sleep, you probably won't get tired during the day. If you need to get up at 6 a.m., go to bed at 10 p.m.
By the way -- even if you HAD study hall, it's STUDY HALL, not NAP TIME.

hahah sounds exactly like me last year as a freshman! i wouldnt get any sleep at night and then id sleep through a ton of my classes! but im doing a whole lot better this year which is awesome! the most major way to help is to get more sleep. yeah it might suck going to bed earlier than your used to, but trust me! eventually it will help! to wake up i use an alarm clock called "clocky" that rolls away and "hides" when it goes off or when you hit snooze! its really helpful because it really makes you get out of bed and its hilarious! as for actually staying awake in class, chew gum!!!! yeah teachers might not technically let you have it, but as long as you chew it without them noticing then youre fine! i bet theyd rather you chew it than fall asleep while theyre teaching you! also, bring a water bottle to class! im not exactly sure why, but it helps me stay awake. and while taking notes, try to make them less boring. i actualyl use 12 different colored pens and switch them everytime a new word or topic comes up! many people also say to drink coffee or some form of caffeine in the morning, like dr pepper or whatever! i havent tried it but you could try that! and also, make sure you eat enough during the day! hah hope this helps! good luck and try to stay awake!!

Well,I sorta have the same problem.
I try when i catch myself falling asleep,I shake my head back and fourth alot for a minuter er so,then I sit up alot more in my chair, and if that doesn't work,I get up and sharpen my pencil,[even if it doesn't need sharpend]
youll be amazed at how much walking to the pencil sharpener helps.

drink things with a lot of caffeine in it [coke or coffee]
get at least 8 hours of sleep
when u think ur about to fall asleep, try to move around [stretch ur arms, sit up, fix ur hair, anything that makes u move]
and just dont put ur head down that makes it a lot worse
