What constitutes Racism?

Question

Is anti-crime stance, racism?
Since when has criminal become a race?
What about Affirmative action? Is it racist to GIVE a job based on race? Do minority children starve faster? does the minority homeowner's bills come more often?
What about regional idiomatic acceptance? ("black-english", bilingual teaching) Is it that these other groups cannot learn, adapt and apply what is taught?

It seems to me that the addage of "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" is the best way to see things here.
Employment? First best qualified come, first best qualified served.
Schooling? America is, worldwide, listed and accepted as an English-speaking country.
You will notice, by their absence, that the Asain population NEVER wants bilingual teacers, they see it as a breech of HONOR to not learn english!
As for crime, ALL PEOPLE SHOULD BE AGAINST IT-IN ALL FORMS EVEN ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.
All criminals have sob stories as to WHY it's not their fault!

Very good and you are spot on. Racism is any group that favors one race over another, or puts one race above another. We won't list all them, they know who they are.

First of all, racism requires speaking about a particular race. Illegals are not of a particular race. Most of them are hispanic mexicans. But it is stupid when people say it is the mexican race factor, because mexican is not a race.

People are against illegals because they are illegals. Most illegals happen to be from Mexico. So obviously they are taking it personally and playing the race card. However, it would work if mexican was a race. I guess they should have learned English in order to define what 'race' is.

No one is saying that all of those strongly against illegal immigration are racist but considering the FACT that the only times in my life that I've ever been called a racial slur was in this very forum by those strongly against illegal immigration , you'd be hard pressed to try to convince me that none of them take their stand solely on race.

Look at what you just wrote. You make it sound like all illegals are Latinos and vise versa. You are just plain wrong.In fact only about HALF of illegals come from Mexico. Only about 20% of Hispanics livng in the United States are illegal aliens.

Racism is anytime someone os given something because of their race or denied something because of their race.

The NAACP is a racist organization. The KKK is a racist organization. The government is racist because they collect information based on a person being white, african american, latino, etc.

It doesn't matter what color someone is. If they are qualified given them a scholarship, welfare, a job or put them in jail.
