myself being a viet nam vet at the time really did not get any thanks for what we were sent to do. at this time i am looking for a world war two veteran so as i can honor him at the veteran car show oct. 7 2007. i think we should honor and celebrate our vets from all wars. they have many ways now of getting the education and training to help all of us in our civilian lives, both veterans and non vets. i am always trying to do something top honor a veteran. my last thing was when i bought my 1965 ford galaxie 500 xl. this vehicle was set up by ford motor comp with all control for hand control. the gentleman that owned this car bought it new in wilmington ca. he needs honored. he did not quit due to his disability. i am asking you to visit a veterans hospital and you will see where we all are as far as us veterans. when we got home from the war we were called baby killers, saw signs that read, dogs and sailors keep off the grass. i am 100% positive that outs and active military needs the at a boys and girls. please be one to honor these guys and girls. thanks for letting me write what i feel

There are many ways you can thank the military. The one that would stand out the most and make you feel good doing it would be to send a package to a soldier you can go to a few different web sites and get all the info. They dont make much and some dont have familys and even the ones that do it is like keeping up two house holds and can be very hard. It means a lot to them to recive a package from a total strainger and some times you make a life long friend. Here is two great sites to help you along. Thank you for caring so much my husband is deployed right now and it makes a world of a difference to knoww people like you care. It makes it even more worth while. Thank You!!!

It depends on what they are doing, and where, doesn't it?
You don't just raise your arm and salute all soldiers regardless of what they are up to. "I am merely following orders" is no excuse for despicable action.
On the other hand, I'm sure you could find admirable actions by our military.
Just don't think they are all bad or all good.

Go to your local VA Hospital and talk to them and shake their hand and thank them in person. I'm on my way there tomorrow morning.

I do every time I see a serviceman. If Carm Soprano is to be believed, I pity both her fiancee and her. They just don't get it.

Support them and say thanks that way. There are lots of sites where you can write letters and send gifts. Try a web search and see how many you find.
