I am working out three days minimum and want to know what my calorie intake should be. I want to be able to play with my kids and not be a lard a@s!! Any good sites with any information would be a life saver!!

You need to use up about 2000 calories each day. The problem is that you also can't eat too few calories or you will end up with health problems plus having so little energy you will walk around like a zombie so that gives you a lower limit of maybe 1000-1500 per day. As far as dropping a pound of fat you need to use up 3500 calories.

So when you do the arithmetic if you stuck to 1500 calories a day it would take you seven days to lose a pound and 210 days to lose 30 pounds. If you tried going as low as 1000 you could lose 2 pounds a week and drop that weight in about 3 months. That means it will take between 3 and 6 months of dieting to drop your extra pounds.

Hopefully during those months you will get the hang of not overeating and will change your approach to food enough that you can keep the weight off.

You should intake about 1500 calories a day. No more no less.
