I agree, however it's not the U.S. fault it's the people. Let's put the blame where it counts.

One nation under God was put into the pledge in the 1950's during the communist witch hunts.
The truth is when the little school teacher who wrote the pledge wrote it. There was a different church on every corner
She new as all Americans that the way to insure our right to worship the goverment should not be involved. That is why we have a seperation of church and state.
The funy thing is that after that was added to the pledge church attendance started to drop ever since.
Intolerance and fundementalist divisions started to increase.
The proof is in the pudding.

AS far as Katrina goes it is a double edge sword.
Black people are generally lower on the economic scale people who have no money have no power. So when they take the censes and ask what color you are it is so congress can determine if they give you money or not.
So you can choose to speak out and change this. When they ask tell them you are human. That would remove affirmative action but are you a color or are you an american?

The below should be rather enlightening about the original pledge of allegiance and what happened to change it to what it says today.

I feel that pledging allegiance to a piece of clothe is a lie as well.

What's next? "In god we trust" becomes "In Science we trust" on a dollar bill?
