When they're the ones with the depressing thoughts? A guy dying and suffering horribly on a cross; people all being born innately sinful; the concept of Hell existing where people go to to suffer for all eternity in the worst pain imaginable via fire and they scream until hoarse; etc.

Because, psychologically, I believe that people who have a preset collection of ideas concerning faith always have something that they can believe in (such as the concept of a God who does things for a reason), whereas they sort of see atheism as "not believing in anything" and therefore see Atheists as being depressed by it, because they don't have a fall-back in emotional crises. What I'm trying to say doesn't seem to come out right in text, but I hope it helps.

I'm Catholic..but I don't really believe all of that stuff. I believe that only truly evil people go to hell when they die. I also don't think that atheists are depressed people.

Also if you look at the statistics, Christians lead worse lives. They have:
-Higher divorce rate
-They make up the vast majority of the jail system
-They actually have to fear that there is a hell (God that sucks)

Also, I think you'll find that Christians have higher rates of suicide. Mix being a homosexual from a Christian family and the rate climbs even higher.

because their lives have no meaning. what are they alive for exactly? if there is no God and no heaven or hell, life has no purpose. and that "guy" was Jesus who died to save us from sin and hell by the way
