i) "In his book, The End of Sanity, Martin Gross writes that 'blatantly irrational behavior is rapidly being established as the norm in almost every area of human endeavor. There seem to be new customs, new rules, new anti-intellectual theories regularly foisted on us from every direction. Underneath, the nation is roiling. Americans know something without a name is undermining the nation, turning the mind mushy when it comes to separating truth from falsehood and right from wrong. And they don't like it.' ...Before you claim to be a champion of free thought, tell me: Why did political correctness originate on America's campuses? And why do you continue to tolerate it? Why do you, who're supposed to debate ideas, surrender to their suppression? Let's be honest. Who here thinks your professors can say what they really believe? It scares me to death, and should scare you, too, that the superstition of political correctness rules the halls of reason. You are the best and the brightest. You, here in the fertile cradle of American academia, here in the castle of learning on the Charles River, you are the cream. But I submit that you, and your counterparts across the land, are the most socially conformed and politically silenced generation since Concord Bridge. And as long as you validate that...and abide it...and you are- by your grandfathers' standards-cowards....If you talk about race, it does not make you a racist. If you see distinctions between genders, it does not make you a sexist. If you think critically about a denomination, it does not make you anti-religion. If you accept but don't celebrate homosexuality, it does not make you a homophobe." Charlton Heston, February 16, 1999, Harvard Law School Forum. (www.narila.org/ila/hestonhs.htm)

Short answer: YES
It is an often used tactic that started in second grade by Ted Kennedy, I think.
Actually it IS that same mentality, call names and try to get the other side to defend that instead of the issue.
It is also a good guage of how stong their argument is. When the logical debate, showing facts, and logical evidences cannot be won, the losing side (more often liberals in the USA) turn to name calling
So let's play, OK?
All those against crime can be racists and all who are pro-crime are Child Molesters (most of them just have not been caught, that's all)

Who is calling whom the racist? I only call those who start out their post with "White/Black/Hispanic people" or some variation of that a racist and you know they are from the get go. There are nice ways to post questions without purposely putting in a race but some racists never learn.

properly in the event that they're immigrants, you need to look at what they see each and every of the time on television. people are pissed approximately unlawful immigration and minorities are in simple terms scared. I had a center eastern guy pass in around the corner and as quickly as we met he advised me he wasn't a terrorist. the reality that he even had to declare it broke my heart. in simple terms because of the fact people experience so scared that they've guard themselves at each and every turn is a tragic assertion approximately our u . s . a ..

Because accusing someone for his/her believe is easier than thinking why we give our opinions. I had already 3 notices from yahoo against my "racist" feelings but nobody asked me if I was right to be.
The people who accuse other of been "racist" don't realise that they are racist against their own race.
In example, nature created different races. So, what is wrong for each one to protect itself ? White loving white, black killing blacks (London, New York, L.a.style) yellows making more yellows and browns working hard with browns ? Have you noticed, it is mainly women who cry "racist" ?

It has become a very convenient card to play as an excuse to avoid the real issue and/or problems at hand. . . .and I have seen it played by many people in all walks of life, going back & forth- and in every direction.
