I started counting calories a week ago and I don't know if I'm getting results. I don't do much excersice, but i eat like 300-500 calories a day, NEVER over 1000 calories in a day. And i don't eat greasy food, fast food, or junk food, I try to eat fruits and vegetables and healthy foods. I don't eat much bread and no sweets or soda either. I basically only drink water. Should i still be able to lose weight doing what I'm doing now, or do I have to make some changes?

You don't give enough information for an accurate answer. What is your age, type of metabolism, are you overweight?

Generically speaking I can tell you that losing weight is a matter of simple math (simple but NOT always easy), you need to burn more calories than you take in. But if you starve your body from calories, you won't lose anything(besides water weight) cause your body will hold on to whatever fat it has available to mantain its functions.

I suggest you eat smaller meals during the day with vegetables, some fruits, a source of protein and plenty of water. 200 calories per small meal, 5 or 6 times a day, is 1000 to 1200. Most doctors recommend that calorie levels never drop below 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 per day for men.

If you are serious about this and like math, check this site, it has lots of informations and you can follow their formulas to get accurate numbers for your needs.

Wow.. first off.. yes.. cutting calories you will lose weight.
There's a website called Calorie-Counter.com which is a good way to keep track of your calorie intake.

On another note.. eatting as little as 300-500 calories a day sounds like the start of an eatting disorder.. that is so unhealthy !!

On the calorie-counter website, when you create a profile you can input your weight and height and it will tell you how many calories you are expending a day.. ( using a day) and then if you want to lose weight (safely and healthy) then how many calories you can eat to lose weight.

Here's an example.. say your body expends 1700 calories a day. (which is the number of calories you use in a day based on your current weight and height and how active you are.)
If you wanted to lose 1 lb a week which is safe....
1 lb is equal to 3500 calories.
There are 7 days in a week. Divide 7 days by 3500 calories,and you get a 500.

Take your expended calories of 1700.. subtract 500 calories.. and you should be able to eat 1200 calories a day and still lose 1 pound a week.

What your doing.. it will make you sick. 300-500 isn't enough for your body to function long term.

I wouldn't go below 1000 calories a day myself.

1) Eat more steam food, lean meat, vegies and fruits

2) Cut out the junk food, soda drinks and snacks

3) drink plenty of water / green tea

4)
Exercise - look at combining weights and cardio into your program. you can look at alternating upper and lower body exercises without rest, say bicep curls, then lunges , rest and repeat. With cardio, try sprinting 100m, jog 100m and repeat.

Here's a review link to a program

5) Have 5-6 healthy meals a day(1 plate portions) to keep your body satisfied

6) if you have cravings drink water or eat fruits
here's an article to a healthy diet

7) have an action plan for long term goals, start off with small goals and increase it gradually over time.

Good luck
