Why Did GOD Appear Thousands of Years Ago...?

Question

Yep why did he appear thousands of years ago and not now...
the world is in deeper trouble now than it was back then.
Maybe If that god that appeared then were to appear now we would shout aliens...
We had moses who was suffering from heaven knows what kind of mental illness.
Could you imagine a god telling a man to take other people into the wilderness for years.I doubt it very much,,,it was moses idea from the start.
Then producing ten commandments that took longer than making the universe...yea right.
Then we have isiah who had a vision about beings comming down a ladder..(need I say what that could be..uummm.).
Then we have the virgin mary who had jesus..
How could she have been when jesus had an older brother called james.....
any clues to what really happened back then...anyone...?

God appeared about 2000 years ago in order to do this:
1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,

2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor

Which he blatantly said in Luke 4. He said those very words. And one of the other things that he did was tell us when he would come back:
27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
(Matthew 24)

You can tie Matthew 24 into Zechariah 14. It's talking about the same time.

So God told us already, are you watching?

I would answer this question with a question, why is it that people still believe that god exists when there has never been one iota of proof that he does ? the belief is based on nothing more than unwritten stories from at least two thousand years ago, these stories were from pretty much un educated people who had progressed from worshipping many other gods, often involving human sacrifice, I also wonder why Westerners follow a faith that came from the Jews but do not follow the Jewish faith, was Jesus not supposed to have been the king of the Jews, the whole issue leaves me in amazement that modern intelligent people can be fooled by this nonsense.

It was in that area of the world, the Middle East, where people had the ability to write long before other places. They used this ability to write stories and write down their laws. Everyone likes the backing of the Supreme Being of the Universe to justify their lifestyle. The Jews were no different here. The only difference was having the ability to write it all down.

As human beings have a high regard to very old reading matter, the bible gained an importance beyond it's real worth as one of the oldest surviving pieces of written work.

Excellent question. A few thousand years ago the god fairy was very busy performing magic tricks, murdering babies, and magically making stuff out of nothing. Then it sent the magic jeebus man down here to get executed and then get resurrected into a zombie. Since the zombie stuff absolutely nothing has happened. I guess it dropped dead, or maybe it's busy murdering babies on another planet.
