I'm looking into finally buying a good stand mixer. I know Kitchenaid is great, but has anyone also used the new Cuisinart? Does anyone have good comparisons to make between the two? If I'm going to plunk down my change I'd love to get the best one possible. Thanks alot!

My Kitchen Aid mixer, with all attachments, was my mother's when I was a little kid - and I'm in my fifties. It still works wonderfully. The bowl and beater and other attachments still look like new. Half the numbers on the dial don't show because we've worn them off! My mother's "New" Kitchen Aid is from the 1970's and is still like new. And we use our mixers often!

I haven't tried the Cuisinart mixer, but I've had a Kitchenaid one for years, and it's a real workhorse. It'll mix anything I put into it, and it's never needed servicing. If I had to replace the mixer, I'd probably get another K-aid.

Stick with what each does best.

The KitchenAid trade name has always stood for versatility, reliability and durability. From the classic stand mixers, to powerful convection ovens. . .from sleek built-in refrigerators, to almost silent stainless-steel interior dishwashers, KitchenAid products are the choice for producing great results.

The name “Cuisinart” is synonymous with superior quality and innovation that gourmets have come to expect from their favorite kitchen tools. Cuisinart when you need a food processors.

Go with Kitchenaid. They've been making stand mixers forever. They know stand mixers and they do them well.

Cuisinart is known for its food processors. The stand mixer is an attempt to compete with Kitchenaid.

I have a Kitchenaid, and have had it for almost 6 years. I absolutely love it! My daughter wants one now. My Kitchenaid is still going strong. I don't think I would ever try anything else. I highly reccommend the Kitchenaid. This one I have has done everything from cookies to bread dough. Good luck on your purchase:)

I have to agree with Mike C. I have two Kitchen-aid mixers, one is 20 yrs. old and works like new and smaller version that is 5 years old with no problems. You can't beat their warranty.

I also have a Cuisinart Food Processor that is 15 yrs. old and has never failed me.

If you want a stand mixer go for a Kitchen-aid, best for the price.

If you want a food processor go for a Cuisinart, best for the price.

If price is no object, go for a HOBART.

I don't know about the Cuisinart, but I love my Kitchen Aid mixer. I have absolutely no complaints about it. Just make sure you get the larger model if you bake alot.
