stop blaming jr's. failures on equipment not up to par or theresa. could it just be he isnt as good a driver as the winners in nascar? because of his dad is no reason to be a fan of jr. look at his record. not so great!

Why do you assume that ll Jr.'s fans are only following him because of his dad? That is a really big assumption. Jr. is a good driver and he will prove it when the time comes. We have seen him drive the wheels off of a bad handling car, one with no power steering, aero pkg. gone, no fenders, etc. And he is not whiney about the car failures as some of the other drivers. He just humbly says he's gonna be back next week and drive his heart out. That is what he does.

Kyle did have a good weekend now if he didnt cause three wrecks alot the way to two of his wins (caused two wrecks in the Truck race and of course wrecking Keselowski but it is what it is). Jr. had a good race last night and I really thought that he would end up with with a solid top 10 if not a top 5. but still a good race and yes he does look better without the beard. He actually looks like Jr lol.

Why not save these comments and questions until next year. After Jr.has been with Hendrick all these questions will be answered. Either Dale Jr. will show that he is a great driver with the Earnhardt name or just a mediocre driver with a great name.

How many fans have watched their driver blow an engine and been upset cause they were driving great? Im willing to bet their arent many fans who havent been in that situation atleast once. Junior fans have been through it 5 times this year. Junior has been driving great when each engine has blown. with him 13th in points and just missing the chase it is a bone of contention with the junior fans. I seem to recall a lot of whining last year when someone else didnt make the chase. And i recall a lot of people whining when Gordon and Johnson have blown engines and blaming equipment failure. Sometimes it not whining .. sometimes it just the truth and the equipment sucked.

I have never been a Sr fan, I have followed Jr up through the Bush series where he did quite well. He is a very good driver and I believe he could win a championship if he was put into a good ride. I think the number is somewhere around 8 DEI engines blew up this year and that's just the DEI owned cars, that's not to mention other cars on the track that ran DEI engines this year.9 I didn't have time to look this up) I guess next year JR will have to put his money where his mouth is

I did look at his record and Matt Kenseth's , and Kurt Busch's and Kevin Harvick's guess what the numbers are pretty much the same(oops Jr's got more wins than Kenseth and Harvick). It's not like Jr was running mid-field when those engines(4 actually) went or when Shrub ran into him, he was in the top-10 at least every time. Pretty much every DEI driver's blown a motor these year, remember the spring Cali race where only Menard finished. Hell Truex's went on lap 1. The only way DEI got any kind of R and D done was they went over to JRM and used Jr's equipment. Aside from that Jr's a welcome change from the whiney drivers around. He had every right to ***** after Texas this year and Dega last year when other drivers wrecked him.

Any fan that pulls for a driver based on record alone is no fan.
As far as taking care of equipment goes, does anyone believe that Kyle Busch takes care of his equipment? No way!
Yet, he has only 1 DNF due to a crash at Dega...no blown engines. And you know he's not getting the best engines at HMS.
Personally, I usually like drivers with the "win or blow it up trying" attitude. It's their attitude off the track that determines whether I would pull for them though.
I pull for Junior for that reason. The older he gets, the more like his Dad he becomes.
Face it people. He has the name, the talent, the desire and the personality required to be one of the all-time greats and most loved of any. He has it all, except the engines. That will change come February 2008.
Better start getting yourselves mentally prepared to see Junior in Winner's Circle a lot.

If fans only based their choice on performance then only Jeff Gordon would have fans this year.
Junior is honest and direct when he answers questions. He shows everyone respect. He rarely complains, in fact he praises an engine dept. when he has engine failures. He is what many fans want in a driver.
Why does his popularity bother you? If you like a driver that isn't as popular that is cool.
