I prefer fresh garlic either minced or pressed. Depending on how much you are making, add one or two cloves. I usually do 2 cloves for a half loaf of bread. I also add parsley if I have it. It helps to offset the garlic. Then just add as much butter as you think you'll need. If you bake it at 400 it should be crisp on the bottom and top. It shouldn't take more than 8-10 minutes, but watch it because ovens vary. If you broil it, the bottom won't be crisp.

take some butter or margarine ( soft )
you will need garlic salt or powder
Take the bread ( if french loaf cut in half)
Butter the bread and then sprinkle with the garlic
bake on cookie sheet.
If using a french bread. put the loaf back together before baking.....
Some people prefer to mix the garlic in with the butter or margarine and make a garlic spread.
bake untill warm at 350 degrees. Longer if you want toast
Here is a quick garlic toast or bread. Butter bread, put on garlic and put in toaster.

I would butter the bread then sprinkle garlic powder and some salt. Then broil it for a few minutes. Just as a personal note, whenever I've used garlic salt it's way too salty, but that could be the brand I'm using. Or you could butter the bread and use minced fresh garlic and salt.

Hurl the sandwich bread into the rubbish and then get a lovely baguette, slice half way through, rub each slice with a naked garlic clove and drizzle all with melted butter. Oven at 350, bread onto tin foil, slightly cover, and bake until you smell garlic (about 15 minutes).

Easy version-butter the bread and sprinkle with garlic powder-bake for 10-15 minutes at 350. More advanced version-brush bread with olive oil, spread minced garlic on bread, cover with mozzerella cheese and broil until cheese is melted and yummy.

Crush garlic cloves, say about 6 of them, mix with a tablespoon olive oil, and season with pepper.Spread garlic mix on one side of bread, and make a stack on top of each other.Cover stack with aluminium foil.Bake in oven for about 10 mins.Check.Don't leave too long as sandwich bread is very thin and will burn.

lol, it definitely doesn't make you less of a vegetarian. I think it's great when someone can get over a craving without sacrificing their beliefs. We can't help it if we get occasional cravings, that's not something someone has control over. Anyways, I eat them occasionally. Maybe once a week. Actually, twice or so a week would be more like my limit if it's homemade, and even less than once a week if it's the processed stuff from the store. Regardless though, for me it's not really about it being a fake version of meat. It might have been back when I was a beginner, but now I don't really regard them as 'fake meats', it's more about them tasting good in what I make. And I definitely don't feel bad or like I'm a bad vegan, cause no animal has to suffer or die for me to get it....it's not real meat. It's completely different.

Here's how I do mine. Spray one side of the slice with garlic bread and broil garlic-up until as brown as you want. Take it out and flip it over and spray the other side with garlic spray and toast a little bit more. Take it out and put a mix of Parmesan, Romano, and asiago on it, and some dried parsley, and broil until melted. But mozzarella would work perfectly too!
