sure....
first, with three girls ...be careful not to make the apartment look to 'girlie'
pick a color scheme.....a color that you all like ...such as blue
then....stay with that color throughout the apartment so that the decor flows nicely
dont be afraid to use prints .....they add a lot of drama to an otherwise boring solid color decor
go to discount stores such as used furniture places and find funky cool looking peices for discount prices that you can add some paint to for accent pieces in the apartment
here is a fabric sample.....perhaps for the living room?
http://www.fabric.com/quilting-fabric-shop-by-category-nature-abstract-quilt-fabrics-chocolate-licorice-chocolate-licorice-flower-blue-grey-brown.aspx?SearchProductID=8431cb0b-3d0c-4691-b34f-2c1c6f6ede4f
that fabric is girlie ...but blue...so it brings it down a bit and adds some class to the decor
another good color is green
green is great in the kitchen
living room
bedrooms
and bath
you can add potted plants in the place that will serve as natural air filters to keep the place more healthy and add natural elements to add a sense of relaxation and tranquility
Make sure to add a media center somewhere ....where mail can be seperated into cubbies for each roommate like internal mailboxes in the apartment ...a dry erase board can be used for communication between all roomates as people come and go and are hard to keep up with ...( when bills are due, cleaning that needs to be done, if repairmen are stopping by ...that type of thing)

Pick three colors you all like, and use those throughout the apartment. Decide if you want warm [ caramel, olive, coffee brown ] neutrals, or cool neutrals [ navy, gray, black ].
Example:
sky blue, leaf green, yellow. Make each room a combo of the two colors.
LR - yellow with blue
K - yellow with green
Bdr # 1 - green with blue
Bdr # 2 - blue with yellow
Bath - green with yellow
Try to get a bedding set and curtains before you pick paint colors. It's much easier to match paint to fabric than vice versa.
If you already have furniture, try to put same color groups together [ brown, tans, olives together, or navies, grays, and blacks ].
Add pillows and rugs in prints or solids that tie the colors together [ upholstery, walls, carpet colors ].
Keep all metals same in one room - brass, chrome, copper
Maybe keep all art in one room similar - Ann's in the LR, Betty's in dining area, Cindy's in Bdr 1, and Debbie's in Bdr 2.
Add some plants, photos, personal ornaments.
Be organized, and keep the place picked up - put a laundry basket in each closet, or two - light and dark.
