Hi Yanet the easy way is to but a bird from a breeder that hand raises there birds they are then usually silly tame that is very attached to people and will like nothing better than to snuggle up. but remember that it will always expect this so every day set time aside to get the keet out for its play time and you will have a friend for lots of years...allan

I recommend you get a parakeet from a breeder, or one that is hand fed. This will make the bird much easier to tame.
A breeder may charge less than a pet store, and they may handle the babies more, which makes them more tame. A hand-fed bird costs more, but it's worth it because the bird will be already tame.
If you can't handle a bird before you buy it, it may be hard to tame. A wild, biting parakeet is not so much fun to handle, although it still might be a good talker and fun to watch.
I also recommend you have the wing feathers clipped, at least until the bird gets nice and tame. This way the bird can't fly away, but if it falls (or jumps) it will just flutter to the ground and not get hurt.
Then, spend at least an hour a day with the bird, so it gets bonded with you.
By the way, parakeets like to be in the room where you eat; it makes them feel like part of the "flock."

I would get one from a home breeder that hand raises parakeets/budgies- they really take the time to handle the babies and get used to humans. I bought mine from a breeder and he is wonderful! He is very friendly and social. He is always singing and playing with his toys, he likes to come out sometimes and fly around, but he loves his toys so much, he just loves his cage- which is HUGE! It is over 2 feet long and about 1 1/2 foot wide- the bird is spoiled. OK I rambled on about my bird- but I love him!
