If they dont, how do you know there will be male/female distinction in heaven?

Well most religions say the following: you are all the same in the eyes of God, except by your deeds. It would make sense to not have genders in souls but Im still wondering upon this.

This is the only statement I could find to come close to addressing those questions: Matthew 22:30 ~ "For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of G-d in heaven."

That only tells us that there will be no joining together of man and woman (so it may stand to reason that there will be no new births). It does not tell us if the souls or the angels are "gender-less". Most of the angels we read about in the Scriptures appear in "male" form with male names.

I think when we are resurrected, we will still be ourselves and that our souls are our life energy and personality.

Regarding the Additional Details part of you question:

"...you are all the same in the eyes of God, except by your deeds..."

We are the same in the eyes of G-d relative to the here and now concerning our gender, social status, color of skin, IQ level, physical appearance and physical abilities, etc. Romans 2:6 ~ "Who will render to every man according to his deeds"; Romans 2:11 ~ "For there is no partiality with Elohim."

About our genders ~ in the resurrection, that Matthew 22:30 quote indicates that the circumstances and / or environment will have a different dynamics...a new heaven and a new earth (Rev. 21:1) ~ no need for fancy, high-priced weddings. :)

Only our physical body distinguishes betweeen male and female..our different human anatomy etcetera.... So I don't believe we would be male nor female because as a soul there is no way to distinguish that or come to a conclusion about gender. I believe souls are genderless but i'm not sure if we will even have bodily form in Heaven. I think we might maintain a sense of gender in Heaven for thats the only way to distinguish us. I guess It will remain a mystery....

What a great question! I don't really have an answer...sorry. I just wanted to tell you this is a very thought-provoking question and I will do just that - give it some thought. I do believe in the concept of a soul. Very much. I guess if I think about mine, it would HAVE to be female. But, again, I don't really know. I'm fascinated by your question.

this is what The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latterday Saints beleve on this subject

Modern revelation makes clear that what we call gender was part of our existence prior to our birth. God declares that he created “male and female” (D&C 20:18; Moses 2:27; Gen. 1:27). Elder James E. Talmage explained: “The distinction between male and female is no condition peculiar to the relatively brief period of mortal life; it was an essential characteristic of our pre-existent condition”

No, I think they are what they are. I think they are the essence of ourselves and that they are interchangeable as far as sex goes.
If you look at the developing human Embryo, the sex is female until the third month, then the distinction brought on by hormonal fluctuation, begins.
I think we our souls are androgynous.
AS FOR GOD CREATING MAN AND WOMAN...He started with ADAM and extracted eve from his side. That means that Adam LOOKED different than men do now. I think God created first man in his own image and that was an androgynous soul, because GOD is neither MAN nor WOMAN.

Yes.
All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose.

Seriously, how can someone answer that question when no one can demonstrate any single property that souls have?

What color is a soul?

How much does a soul weigh?

Is my soul the right size for my head or is it too small?

This is mans everlasting mistake of putting fleshly traits upon Spirit. We do the same thing with God and curse the qualities that we impose upon It!

Absolutely, our soul is the immortal part of our self. Ofcourse, I do not think our soul's gender really matters but I do think that gender carries with us into eternity.

Yes, the Bible say so.

"For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret," Psalms 139:13-15

God knew us before we were ever thought of. Therefore, we already had a gender.
