Does anyone know of way to get a dog to know the difference between a real doorbell and the TV. My German shepard Barks at TV doorbells everytime there is one, and It wakes our new baby. I feel this has nothing to do with the baby being in the house, The dog still gets loads of attention

Until recently, we lived in a house without a doorbell, so my dog barks at knocking sounds. She completely ignores the doorbell in our new house. ;-)

You could try desensitizing your dog to doorbell sounds. Record a doorbell. Have the dog in a down-stay and play the sound. Tell her 'quiet!' just as or before she opens her mouth to bark. Give her a treat and praise. Repeat until she learns to ignore the sound.

Alternately, you could use headphones when watching TV when the baby is asleep...

When my mother's dog hears a doorbell on TV she will go running to the door and she will start to bark and she will do that when she hears any kind of noise on TV.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://tr.im/gPKax

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

My dog does this also. I really don't think there is a way to break them of this. Hopefully, your baby will get used to the barking after a while.
