That depends on how well you like the traits of the breed. One thing that can be annoying even to Siamese lovers though, is the unearthly sounds a female Siamese makes when she is in heat. However, the easy way to avoid that problem in a pet Siamese is having her spayed before she starts having heat cycles.

Siamese and most other Oriental cat breeds are active, talkative, bright, energetic personalities. If you want a quiet sedate cat, breeds such as the Persian will be more to your liking.

It depends on your perception. I have two. They follow me around constantly, much like dogs...and they are very affectionate. I like their communicating skills...i.e. they "talk" a lot. They do seem to be needy, but I don't know that it is necessarily breed specific. I think sometimes we can make them needy by giving them constant attention as kittens...and I mean...a lot. Personality plays into this as well. For many years there has been a belief that siamese are "mean"...this is not actually true! They are very smart, however. Many times, the personality of the owner is reflected in the personality of the cat. I have owned many cats over the years and I will say....Siamese tend to be the most demanding as far as attention goes. As far as annoying...any cat could be annoying at times...like when you are writing and they want to sit on your paper or steal your pencil (which is really cute at the same time!). I will say, my female siamse does have one annoying trait. She shreds paper....and she does this if she is not getting what she wants....generally, she wants attention like holding her. She fortunately does not do this all the time. She will start chewing on cardboard boxes and paper when she is in this mood.

In what way? They talk a bit more, but I've got a black & white cat who talks even more than my Siamese.

I had a Siamese cat and she kept to herself and she was not annoying.

I had a Siamese mix and she was mostly great but she also definitely had her moments. I guess that's true for all us, right?
