There is a guy that I began talking to on the phone, and everything was great. When I met him he was so full of compliments that it made me want to slap him at the dinner table. I appreciate compliments, but he was really overdoing it. On top of all of that his breath was rancid!!!

If your still seeing this guy & he still over doing it on Compliments. U should tell him that u love the compliments but your over doing it. If u don't let him know ,then y get upset .
& about his breath get some breath ments & as u take one 4 your self give him one. If u do this every time u c him he'll get the message....& maybe u sholud talk 2 him about it .What would u do if it was your breath & u didn't know & your talking to some nice looking guy & he didn't say any thing but u wanted him 2 kiss u but he didn't would u wonder y .Then he told one of your girl friends & she told u . Oh don't say it can't or won't happen , u never know . Some time u have 2 just tell the other person what going on & yes your hurt there feeling but now they know & can do something bout it.....This is what friends do 4 each other........That y there call friends.....dragon..

It's much much better to just be honest. Sometimes it can be hard, but you need to do it. These following steps are very important:

If it is a close friend with whom you can tell anything, then inform him accordingly. 3. It's easier to hear the truth from a friend than from an acquaintance or stranger. If you aren't particularly close to a person with whom you would like to be honest, but you still want to convey your message, then ask someone who is close to that person. For example, you might tell this person's close friend that he has bad breath, rather than tell the person yourself.
I have a great example of this- My mother worked in a place where there was one VERY smelly woman. Everyone laughed at her, gossiped, and talked about her behind her back. My mom couldn't take it anymore because she thought this was cruel. She gathered up all her courage and told the smelly girl about the stink problem. She never realized she smelled, so she thanked my mother. She fixed it and nobody ever said she smelled again.
4. In short, don't be rude. There are other ways to inform him of something without directly hurting his feelings.
So just tell him how you really feel. You did that here. He will understand and be grateful that you addressed his problem so he became aware that he had to fix it. Good luck!

just let him know that he is nice but the unflattering complements dinner completely turned you off because his breath was rancid and it's time for him to move on.

Just smile and avoid him at all cost but be nice, make up tons of excuse. Well don't lie just kinda find things to do like, you have to go shopping or your tired or I"ll think about. Just becoe very shy and distant.

No really - Be honest - sometimes the hardest thing to do is the most obvious. It may hurt his feelings, but you and HE will be a better person because of it. And neither of you will be misleading.

Either tell him or get some help from a friend or use a guy friend and act like your seeing someone else. Preferable a bigger guy who can scare him off. Good luck
