agree. The Blessed Virgin Mary is the Mother of God. "theotokos" in Greek.
People give birth to people, not natures.

She is only mother of the human body God created inside her womb. She gave birth Jesus, so she is the mother of Jesus.
Jesus, as God does not have an start or end. He was present and participated of the creation of the world, Mary was born centuries after.

I find it astonishing that people can say...
"Jesus was Born of Mary, and was God, but God was not born of Mary"...and then tell the questioner that she's not a moron, just uninformed. Can anyone, with any sense or reason, justify it?
If Jesus was God...the Mary gave birth to God. The trinity does indeed confuse things...in fact, it makes the insupportable. Remember...JESUS said "I am the son of Man"....he said so about 80 times in the new testament.
I just think this process of saying the equivalent of "apples are a fruit...fruit comes from trees...apples aren't from trees" is senseless...

God, the Holy Spirit and Jesus, preexisted Mary. However, the name Jesus was given to God in the flesh when He became human. So theoretically Mary is the mother of God when He came to the earth, and was born in the flesh because God needed a human to conceive and bare Him, so that He could become like us, bare our sins and die for us in the flesh.
Is this something to argue about when there are so many who need to know Jesus?

Mary was the mother of Jesus. Jesus came to earth as any other man. To say that Mary is the mother of God puts Mary in a place she is not to be. It is also derived from circular reason, not from scripture.
Mary was a good woman. Her heart was after God - to serve Him and He knew this of her. So, He chose her to carry the human vessel God was to dwell in as the Son. A blessing indeed. But, in no way is she to be considered the mother of God. Scripture does not support this, at all.
To put her in that position even denies what Jesus said to her at the wedding at Cana when she came asking his help - "What have I to do with you, woman?" It was not a matter of flipness, but He would not of said this if she was what some claim her to be. Then, while "conducting business" on the cross, He tells His brother (truly, 1/2 brother), John "behold your mother. Mother, behold your son". This also shows that Mary was not a virgin, cause Jesus had siblings - you know how they come about.
Don't mind those that call you stupid or fool. They are foolish considering their behavior. I would like to think I came to you with all due respect, as I am sure others will, if not all.
Have a good day.

Mary wasn't there before God because God created her. The trinity complicated because there are 3 separate parts but yes they are one being. Jesus who was born from Mary was the son but there are still the other two parts. Also, the son was even there before Mary because in the old testament there are sightings of him. Its a good topic to look into because its very interesting.

Maria, Jesus was both divine AND flesh. The flesh was man, but the Spirit that dwelt in Him was God. Therefore, Mary, a human and a mortal, could not have givin birth to deity. She was able to birth the flesh, but not the Spirit of God.

Yes, Mary is the "mother of God". The early church gave her this title, but not for the reason that catholics and catholic apologists assert. Mary was given the title mother of God as a means of saying something about the nature of Christ. It had nothing whatsoever to do with giving Mary a position of such high exultation as she has in modern Roman Catholicism. To assume that this is what the early church had in mind is to read rather recent theological innovations into early Christian thinking.

To be all you claim, Jesus must begin his existence when Mary gave birth to him. He did not.
Jesus himself said, "Before Abraham was.. I have been." (John 8:58) Jesus was the firstborn of all creation. In fact, after his Father created Jesus, all other things were created using him to do it. (Col. 1:15-16)
So being born to Mary was not Jesus first rodeo. Mary is fortunate and to be honored raising Jesus into a good man worthy of respect and in the line of David as foretold. She is not any part of a deity.

God cannot have a mother. Jesus is God's son and Mary was Jesus's human mother.
There is a big contrast with the both. You're not a fool or stupid, just a little misinform. It happens to everyone.
